You can use the top right 'Show more buttons' icon to expand the toolbar and find many more essential tools
These additional tools allow you to be more creative and flexible with how text is displayed. From here, you can change text alignment, insert equations or subscripts etc.
Click on the text field and type as usual.
The Moodle text editor tools allow you to apply effects to the text entered into the text area. Tools behave similarly to the options available in other text editors such as Microsoft Word.
In general, to use text formatting tools: 1. Click and drag within the text area to highlight text 2. Select a tool on the top to apply its effect to the selected text
The formatting will then apply to your text.
Text editing options are easy to use and very flexible. Some commonly used text tools are highlighted in the following image. To remove formatting from already formatted text, highlight the formatted text and click the tool icon for the formatting that you want to remove. Some formatting options with dropdowns such as Heading and Colour cannot be removed, you need to select a different text/colour style in the dropdown.
