The Synbiotix Helpdesk uses zoning information to allocate resources efficiently (when task auto-allocation is enabled). It aims to assign tasks to the nearest available resource. Each location is associated with a specific zone to facilitate this process.\ \ For instance, we have a porter who has moved a patient to Ward 1, which is in Zone 1. The system will attempt to assign them a new job that starts in Zone 1. If there are no available jobs in Zone 1, the system will try to assign them a job in the next-closest zone (Zone 2). If no jobs are available in Zone 2, the system will continue looking for a job in the next closest zone, and so on. This ensures tasks are allocated efficiently based on proximity.\ \ The Zone Matrix allows you to set the proximity of each zone to the others. Consider things like staff lifts, stairwells, and exits when setting this up.
