2.CR.3.1 Create and Use Tags
Scenario: See the steps below to practice creating and using tags.

Close any pop-ups that appear as you work through this course.
Start in the Sample company.

To complete this exercise, you must be in the Sample company. From your QBOA account, click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then select Sample company.
Note that you will be logged out of your current account. If you are sure, click "Continue" to confirm.
Now get started with the exercise.
Check the settings
In order to use Tags, the settings must be enabled in both Sales and Expenses if you plan to use them for both transaction types. Check to confirm the settings are on in Account and settings.

Click "Account and settings"

Click "Sales"
You can see that the "Tags" setting is on in Sales. Now, check Expenses.

Click "Expenses"
The "Show Tags field on expense and purchase forms" setting is also in Expenses.

Click "Done"
Create a Tag
Craig wants to track his Design income and expenses more closely. Create a Design tag.

Click the Gear icon.

In the Tag name field, type "Design"

Tag Income Transactions
Craig mainly does design work for individuals. Tag the first two transactions for Mark Cho and Geeta Kalapatapu.

Click "See all untagged transactions"

In the Type field, select "Money In"

Click "Apply"

Check the two transactions for Mark Cho and Geeta Kalapatapu.

Click "Update tags"

In the Tags field, select "Design"

Tag Expense Transactions
Now, tag expense transactions. Craig only shops at Tania's Nursery for design jobs.

In the Type field, select "Money Out"

Select the first two transactions you see for Tania's Nursery.

Here you can see the total of Money In and Money Out transactions with the Design tag.
