9GR Coding & Cohort Maintenance Information

Students are coded in the 9GR cohort the first year the student is enrolled in high school as of the state's first reporting period for that school year.

Select the student to edit.

Click "Compliance"

Click "South Carolina Student Information"

Scroll down to the Ninth Grade Code section and click this dropdown.

Select the year the student first entered high school. For current 9th grade students this will likely be the current year value. For 12th grade students the value will likely be 4 years prior.

Click "Submit"

Make sure to see this "Changes have been saved." message after clicking submit.

Scroll to the bottom of the page. For all students who should be counted in the graduation cohort, select "**YES**" in the dropdown for "Student Should Remain in Cohort."
