Add a Resource to the Platform

(updated 10/16/24) This guide provides the steps to add a resource (object) to the platform. A resource (object) can be in the format of: a document (google doc, pdf, word); URL, image, video or audio clip. Note: Not implementations of One Platform have the feature set turned on to allow standard users to add a resource to the platform.

Follow the Steps below to add a Resource to the platform: **Note:** *note all platform implementations have this feature turned on within the platform.* 1. *Log into* the platform 2. *Access* the **Action Center** from where it is located within the platform implementation you are using. *This is typically the Dashboard or Resource landing page* 3. *Click the* **+Create and Share!** and *Select* **Add a Resource**

From the **Add a Resource** modal do the following: 1. *Add* a **Title** (*Required*) 2. *Add* a **Description** 3. *Select* Resource type: *Classroom Materials* or *Professional Learning. (Required)* 4. *Select* radial button applicable to the Resource file type you are going to add: *Website or URL* OR *upload a file* (Required) 5. *Click* **Save button** **Note:** *not all platform implementations have the Classroom Material and Professional Learning options to select from. When it exists, this is a required field.*

From the **Edit Resource page** the following can be edited or added to the Resource: 1. Title 2. Upload new file or Switch URL 3. Description 4. Resource Categories 5. Publisher and Publisher URL 6. Author and Author URL 7. Citation 8. Metadata 1. Keywords 2. Subjects 3. Grades 4. Audience 5. Standards

Metadata Tip: **Add** or **Edit** *all metadata fields* through any of the metadata fields options. **For example:** *Click* the Edit on Keywords and in addition to adding keywords to your resource; you can add Subjects, Grades and Audience applicable to your Resource.

Each time you add a Resource to the Platform, it can be found each time you return to the platform in the following locations: 1. On your **Dashboard** under the ***My Resources Section*** 2. On your **profile dropdown**, by *clicking **My Resources***

Alert! When a Resource is made Publicly available within the platform it is highly advised to add metadata fields. When selecting the metadata fields, select ONLY the fields that are most applicable to the Resource. - The metadata fields are what are used in search by users to find the resource within the platform - The metadata fields are what allows the recommendation tools to work
