Adding Parents & Registered Adults

This guide provides an overview of how to efficiently add parents and registered adults to a Troop using various methods, including text, email, and kiosk options.

New Adult Invited

A Troop Leader clicks **Add New Adult**\ \ *New adults can only be added by an existing, vetted, fully registered leader with the proper permissions.*

The Leader is then taken to a page with three methods for inviting a new adult to create a profile in TLC: 1. **Text** - A text with a link. 2. **Email** - An email is sent with instructions and a link. 3. **Kiosk (QR Code** ) - A link directly to profile creation can be copied, or the QR code scanned to access the profile creation.

Method 1: Text Invitation

The leader simply keys in the cell phone number, and clicks **Send Invitation by Text Message**

The parent receives the following text message:

The leader is then taken to complete their profile in their mobile browser.

**Pros:** The only information needed is a cell phone number that can receive a text.\ \ **Cons:** The number isn't captured in TLC and must be keyed in again if the invitation needs to be sent again.

Method 2: Email

The leader completes the key information (First Name, Last Name, Email) and clicks **Add New Adult & Send Email**.

The adult will receive an email inviting them to join the Troop, and from there they click the **Reset your Password** link.

The adult is prompted to add a password and click **Change Password**.

A message appears indicating the new password has been saved, and the adult is encouraged to type in their email address and password, and click **Login**.

Once logged in, the adult can now complete their profile.

**Pros:** The adult's name and email will appear in the Troop roster, meaning TLC has captured their information and they can be emailed or reinvited by leadership.\ \ **Cons:** Requires more steps by the user before creating a profile than Texting or Kiosk mode.

Method 3: Kiosk

Kiosk mode provides the leader with two options:\ \ *For those that have time:* A **Direct Link** that can be opened on multiple laptops, putting them in ***kiosk*** mode so parents have stations to create their profiles that night, if time allows.\ \ *For those in a hurry:* A **QR Code** that can be displayed open on a laptop, scanned from another phone, or printed out and posted at the Open House.

The adult is taken directly to the profile creation page.

**Pros:** Fastest way to provide the link to an adult in person: they scan the code and go directly to the profile creation for that Troop.\ \ **Cons:** There is no way to capture any information within TLC about the adult unless a profile is completed.

Profile Creation

Regardless of method, clicking **Update** at the bottom of the page will create the profile.

Upon completion, the adult is returned to the dashboard \ \ A son can now be added by clicking the **Add Son** icon on the dashboard.

After clicking **Add Son** a parent can complete their son's profile.

Once completed, the parent clicks **+ Continue to next step**

The parent is directed to the **Consent, Waiver, and Release Agreement.**

Once read, the parent clicks the **Accept** checkbox that they agree to the terms.

The **Pay Annual Membership** button now appears and is clickable.

Billing information can be entered, and **Payment Info** button is clicked.

Payment information can be entered, and **Pay $42.27** button is clicked.

The parent is redirected to the profile page of their son with a confirmation notification of membership paid.

Emails Received

New Trailman email sent to the Troop Ministry Liaison and Troopmaster

Membership payment confirmation email sent to Parent.

Receipt email sent to the Parent.

Add Registered Leader

On the left menu, click **Initiate Leader Registration**

Select the adult to invite. *(Only adults who are not yet registered leaders will be listed in the dropdown).*

Click **Send Invitation Email**

You'll be returned to the user's profile, with a notification of their status update, as well as the needed items for their Registered Adult certification.
