If you do not enter your bank account information at least 5 business days before your expected check issue date, you will receive a paper check.
1
Navigate to [https://selfservice.triton.edu/Student/](https://selfservice.triton.edu/Student/)
2
Click "Direct Deposit"
3
Click "+ Add an Account"
4
Click the "Activate" toggle
5
Enter an effective date that is at least 5 business days in the future. Your account will need to be prenoted before any payments can be made. This takes 5 business days.
What is a prenote? A prenote or prenotification is a zero dollar payment to validate the account and routing details of a bank account before debiting or crediting it.
6
Click "Next"
7
A pop-up will appear for you to enter your account details. Items with a \* are required.
8
Enter a nickname for you account. This will make it easier to identify later, as the account numbers are encrypted after you submit the form.
If you're not sure where to find your account numbers, you can click the blue information icon to see a sample check image. You can also find this information on your bank statements, or in your banking app.
9
Enter your routing number. If Self-Service is able to identify the routing number, it will populate under the field.
10
Enter your bank account number in the "Bank Account Number\*" and "Re-enter Bank Account Number\*" fields
11
Click on the "Account Type" dropdown to choose whether your account is a checking account or a savings account.
12
You must read and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Check the "I agree to the terms and conditions" box.
13
Click "Submit"
14
You will be taken back to the Banking Information overview page. If you entered a future "Effective Date" you will see a message that you have no active bank accounts. Self-Service does not see this as active because the effective date is in the future. Don't worry, you can still verify your account details under "View all"
15
If you did not change the "Effective Date" on your account, it will show as "Not Verified". That's OK! That just means it hasn't been prenoted and verified by your bank yet. This should update in 1-2 business days.
