Adding a Special Day or Holiday Hours in Tock

Exploretock

Log into Tock, and click "Control Panel"

Click "Availability Planning" on the left side menu

Scroll down to find the "Special days" section and click "+ Add special day"

Enter the holiday or special day name (this will be hidden from guests, just for internal use)

Click the date field and select the holiday/special date

Make sure either "Use published schedule" is selected, or, if you want to set a custom layout and hours for that day, toggle to "Create new special day", then click "Continue to floor plan"

Review the layout and which tables will be available, then click "Continue to services"

In this example, we won't be open for dinner, so click the "Dinner" schedule to edit

Since we'll be closed altogether, just scroll to the bottom and click "Delete service" (you can also just adjust hours if we were closing late or opening early instead)

Confirm deletion by clicking "Delete"

Next, click "Lunch" just to make sure all the settings are correct

Review the timeframes and other details, make changes as needed

If everything looks good, then click "Continue to review"

Review the details once more, then click "Publish special day"

If you want the changes to go into effect the same day, make sure to toggle on the "Publish to today" option, then click "Publish schedule"\ \ Side note: publishing to today may cause your reservations on other days to be disrupted and moved around, so once you publish, make sure to review the next month or so to ensure it didn't cause any table movements (most commonly it will unassign large parties from their multi-table configuration, so you'll want to make sure those are reassigned so it doesn't leave open tables that are actually booked up)

Double check the schedule published correctly by clicking on "Reservations" and then going to the special day

In this example, we're using Easter on 4/20

You can see that the books are greyed out past 3 pm, but you can also test by booking a reservation...

...which you can quickly see only will offer you the options until 3 pm as intended
