Agents: Adding BFR to a Producer or SBI

NOTE: A BFR/VFR Application will need to be filled out and signed and scanned into imaging, separate from an MPCI Application. The same also applies to SBI's that apply for BFR/VFR.

**Important:** The Beginning Farmer and Rancher (BFR) additional premium subsidy is based on the producer's qualifying **Actual Production History (APH) years**. As a producer accumulates APH records over time, the corresponding BFR subsidy percentage is applied based on the number of eligible years of farming history established in the crop insurance program

Navigate to [agrinet.agrisompo.com](https://agrinet.agrisompo.com) and sign in using the Duo push process.

Start by selecting the correct crop year to work in, then search by insured name or policy number.

In Step 3, select the SBI's icon under the producer name in Step 3, then click the SBI's name. From there continue with step 4 and the remaining steps.

Click on the insured name from the "Policies" column.

Click the "Actions" button.

Scroll down the drop down list and click "Edit Insured".

Click the "Beginning Farmer/Rancher" radio button, to "check" it.

Then click "Save".

The "BFR/VFR" tab will now be accessible. Click on it.

Key in the "Start Date" and "End Date".

Select the "Crop Year" from the drop down list with years available.

Select the appropriate "Program Type Code" from the provided drop down list.

If an "Exception Type Code" is applicable, make a selection from the drop down list.

Once all information has been keyed correctly, click the "Save" button from the lower right hand corner. **NOTE: For the BFR to take effect, the Insured and Agent sign dates MUST be keyed.**

After the system has saved the keyed information, click the "Close" button from the top right hand corner.

NOTE: If there is an SBI(s) attached to the policy, the BFR process will need to be repeated on them as well. Simply click on the SBI's name, and then follow the process above for each SBI BFR is required on.
