Agents: Adding and Managing RLUs in Mapping

Navigate to [https://agrisompo-mapping.agrinet.agrisompo.com/](https://agrisompo-mapping.agrinet.agrisompo.com/)

Note: RLUs are submitted to the RMA for approval to use for reporting. Once approved, acreage can be reported to the RLU.

Note: RLUs cannot be larger than 5,000 acres. For more information on drawing RLUs, please visit the Drawing Tools Guide.

Adding RLUs with Drawing Tools

Click "Drawing Tools" under the "Tools" drop-down menu.

Choose the shape of the RLU. Draw Polygon: Create a shape of choice Draw Circle: Create a circle shape Draw Rectangle: Create a rectangle shape

Create the RLU shape and check the "Save as RLU" box in the upper left hand corner of the window.

Identify the purpose of the RLU by selecting from the drop-down menu. Hover over the black information icon for an explanation of this step.

Click "Save Polygon"

Select the county for submission when an RLU spans multiple counties or States. Hover over the information icon for additional details.

Adding RLUs by Merging CLU shapes

Select the CLUs to be merged and saved as an RLU. Click "Merge Shapes" on the "Drawing Tools" menu.

Check the "Save as RLU" box in the upper left corner.

Identify the purpose of the RLU by selecting from the drop-down. Hover over the black information icon for an explanation of this step.

Click "+ Unit" to add a unit to the new shape.

Select a crop and unit. Click on "+ Unit".

Click "Merge Shapes" The shape will merge together and save as an RLU.

Adding RLUs by Splitting Fields

Select "Drawing Tools" under the Tools drop-down menu.

Select the field to be split.

Click on "Split Shape"

Click the "Save as RLU" box.

Identify the purpose of the RLU by selecting from the drop-down. Hover over the black information icon for an explanation of this step.

Choose how you would like to split the shape.

Split the shape. To split the shape using a line, start by clicking outside the shape to begin the line. The line can go straight across the shape or change direction if needed by clicking at each turning point. Finish the split by double-clicking outside the shape to end the line.

Adjust the acres for each piece as needed and relink at least one of the new shapes to the original crop and unit.

Click "Split". The split shape will save as an RLU.

Adding RLUs by Editing Shapes

Click "Drawing Tools" under the "Tools" drop-down.

Select the shape on the map to edit.

Click "Edit Shape" under the "Tools" drop-down menu.

Select "Save as RLU".

Identify the purpose of the RLU by selecting from the drop-down. Hover over the black information icon for an explanation of this step.

Edit the shape using one or both of the following methods: 1. Create a shape to cut out by drawing a polygon, circle, or rectangle. 2. Click and drag anywhere on the field's perimeter to adjust the line.

Add a unit by clicking on the "+Unit" icon.

Click on "Save Changes" to save the edited shape as an RLU.

Tip! To see the RLU shapes added to the map, check "Available RLUs" under Map Display settings. Each time an RLU is added, refresh the map by using the refresh button at the top of the screen. This will update the map and allow you to see all the added RLUs.

Managing RLUs

Click on "Manage RLUs" under the "Tools" drop-down.

Clicking on the new RLU shape will highlight the line on the Manage RLU window. Clicking on a magnifying glass will zoom to the RLU on the map.

The window will display: **RLU ID:** Will appear once approved by the RMA. **Farm/Tract/Field:** Will display if an RLU is converted to a CLU by the RMA **Acres:** Displays the calculated acres of the designated area. **Status:** Displays the current submission status of the RLU **State-County:** Displays the location of the RLU **The information button:** When hovered over, displays more submission information Once the RLU ID is assigned or the shape is rejected, the shape can be deleted by clicking on the **X** at the end of the line.

Display Hidden Fields

Click "Display Hidden Fields" to display all RLU shapes. The shapes will be represented with a green outline.

Exit the Manage RLU Window

Click on the **X** in the upper right corner to exit.

Alert! All Rainfall Index policy management and mapping remains in AgriNet (this includes coverages for PRF, Annual Forage, and Apiculture).
