Agents: Keying a Pecan Policy in AgriNet (PRV)

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for creating a new pecan policy within AgriNet. Follow these steps to correctly input policy details, coverage options, and APH information to ensure accurate record keeping.

Tip! - If the pecans are in the middle of the 2-year module they cannot transfer or change coverages. - However, the insured may elect HIP-WI in mid-module - Keep in mind-The Approved Revenue is using the temporary revenue Agrinet plugged in which is using the prior years approved revenue to help provide a more accurate quote. However, the most accurate quote is after the revenue and production is keyed. - Be sure to replace the "J" descriptor with an "A" once you report the production on the policy so the APH will be recalculated, and policy will be read as completed. ***APH Grid-Cheat Sheet:***\ APH Yield Column = Gross Sales Per Acre\ Yield Column = Production lbs. per Acre

Navigate to [https://agrinet.agrisompo.com/policy](https://agrinet.stage.agrisompodev.com/policy) and sign in using the Duo push process.

Select the correct crop year to work in and click the "Search Insured or Policy" field and search by insured name.

Click the insured's name from the policies column on the left.

Adding a Policy

Click the "Actions" button from the upper right side of the screen.

From the drop down list, scroll down and click the "Add Policy" option.

From the "Agent" box, select the correct agent to attach to the policy.

The "Policy Type" will default to MPCI, leave as defaulted for Pecan policies, and click the "State" dropdown box and select the correct state.

Once all keyed information has been verified as correct, click the "Save" button. **NOTE:** An "Authorized Representative/Power of Attorney" can be added at this time, or can be added later if needed.

Click the estimate that has been created from under the insureds name.

Adding a Plan of Coverage

Click the "Actions" button again.

From the drop down list, scroll down and click the "Add Coverage" option.

Click on the "County" dropdown list and select the correct county from the drop down list.

From the "Commodity" dropdown box, select the "Pecans" option.

**NOTE:** The "Insurance Type" will default to "Standard MPCI" leave as defaulted for Pecans. Once all keyed information is verified correctly, then click the "Create" button.

From the "Coverage Information" screen, click the "Plan" dropdown arrow and select the "Pecan Revenue" option.

Select the dropdown arrow from the "Level" box and choose the correct percentage of insurance option. **NOTE:** The "Price Percent" box will default to 1. Leave as defaulted as that is all is allowed for Pecans policy.

Select any "Options" from the drop down list if desired, but not required, then click the "Pecan First Year" field, and key the year the pecan trees were first insured with AgriSompo. (i.e. if creating a new policy for the 2027 RY, then 2027 should be keyed.)

**NOTE:** The additional boxes are NOT required at this time, they can be populated at a later time if needed. After verifying that all keyed information is correct, click the "Save" button.

Click the "Close" button from the upper right hand corner.

Adding a Line of Insurance

Click the "Edit" button, or magnifying glass from the "Commodities" section on the screen.

From the "Crop Summary" screen, click the "Actions" button again.

Scroll down the dropdown list and click the "Add Line" option.

Select the correct "Unit" structure from the drop down list, and key the Unit number to be assigned to this line.

Select the "Practice" dropdown arrow and select the correct practice type.

Select the "Type" drown and apply the correct type.

Click the "Farm #" and key the farm number associated with this line of insurance.

**NOTE:** Key the "Block" and "Farm Name" if desired, but not required. The "Share" will default to 1.00 or 100%. If needs to be changed, edit it at this time.

Click the "Acres" field, and key the correct amount of acres. **NOTE:** AgriNet will calculate the "Adjusted Acres" after finishing keying and clicking the "Save" button.

Click the "Plant Date" field and key the plant date for the trees.

Click the "Tree Count" field, and key the Tree count for the Line of Insurance.

Click the "Plant Spacing" field and key the correct values.

Select the "Planting Pattern" dropdown list and select the correct pattern type.

Click the "Variety" field and key the variety type.

Add any additional information if desired. Review all keyed information to verify it's correct and click the "Save" button.

Click the "APH" tab from the left column.

Answer the APH Exceptions questions and click the "Save" button.

Click the "Database" tab from the center left of the screen.

Key the APH database history, or leave the "T-Yield" that auto-populates.

After keying the history database, scroll up and select the "Prior Yield Method" dropdown and select the correct type.

Click the "Prior Yield" box and key the prior yield data provided.

Click the "Save" button.

The system will save, and auto-rate the APH information and calculate the correct yields based off the information keyed in. **NOTE:** If the system does not auto-rate, Click the "Actions" button and then "Rate Policy" to manually rate the databases.

Once all information has been reviewed and verified to be correct, click the "Close" button.

NOTE: Back on the "Crop Summary" screen, the system will now rate and generate Premiums and be visible on the screen. **NOTE:** Fee's will **NOT** populate until the estimate is converted into a policy.

Viewing Important Dates

**NOTE:** For IMPORTANT dates, click the "Calendar" icon from the right of the screen.

A pop-out window will appear with all important dates for the policy.
