Agents: Reporting Precision Ag Data

This guide shows how to load, view and report processed Precision Ag layers in AgriNet/AgriSompo Mapping so you can accurately link planting shapes to CLUs, choose the right acreage method (precision, intersect or CLU). It explains key tools, reconciliation steps, and best practices (uploading maps, checking Is Precision Ag/Use PRAG, and comparing totals) to ensure consistent, auditable acreage and policy records. Turning the Precision Ag Layer On

Select the "Tools" drop down and then Precision Ag.

Select "Precision Ag Layers" from the menu. Note: If there are no processed layers within the agency code, the Precision Ag Layers option will be grayed and disabled.

The Precision layers are organized under the insured's name, allowing for easy access and navigation. To view the available layers, simply click on the insured's name.

Commodities can be filtered to display only the relevant ones. To do this, uncheck the radio boxes for crops you do not wish to view. The layers for the selected commodities will then appear.

Click "OFF" to switch the layer to "ON". The fields will appear pink on the map.

To begin reporting, select any pink shape to open the Plant tool.

Precision Ag Shape Information Box

This box displays planting data submitted with the Precision Ag file. **Calculated Acres:** Displays the calculated planted acres associated with the Precision Ag Shape. **Crop**: Displays the crop planted to the Precision Ag shape. **Plant Date:** Displays the plant date associated with the Precision Ag Shape. **Field Name:** Displays the Field Name (if available) associated with the Precision Ag Shape. **Farm Name:** Displays the Farm Name (if available) associated with the Precision Ag Shape. **Seed Rate:** Displays the Seed Rate associated with the Precision Ag Shape. **Total Reported Acres:** Displays the total of all acres reported to the Precision Ag Shape from the overlapped CLUs.

Reporting Precision Ag Data

In the Plant tool, all CLUs covered by the selected precision ag planting shape will be listed. To report a CLU, fill in the data fields if there is an existing link or click on the blue "Add Planting" button to add a planting event to report to.

Select a Crop-County from the drop-down menu. Note: The Precision Ag Shape info bar at the top shows the crop planted to the shape.

Select a Unit from the drop-down menu. **Note:** - Bolded Units are suggestions based on information entered in other data fields in AgriNet. - Units can be filtered by PLSS or FSN. - Hover over a unit and a side panel will appear displaying additional details, if that information has been entered in AgriNet. **Tip:** Turning on legals in the Map Display Settings can help identify the correct unit, provided the legal information has been added in AgriNet

Select the appropriate practice and type to be reported for the selected crop. Note: If the Unit is selected first, the practice and type will auto-populate.

**Planted Acres** **CLU/RLU Calculated Acres Button:** Clicking this button automatically applies the total CLU/RLU to the Planted Acres field. Suggested Use: When Precision Ag acres are not preferred.

**Planted Acres** "Precision Ag Acres" button (tractor): Clicking this button will use the total Precision Ag Acres from the Planted Shape for Reported Acres. Suggested Use: When the Precision Ag pink shape covers only one CLU or RLU. **Planted Acres** "Intersect Acres" button: Clicking this button will use the Intersection acres between the CLU and Planted shape for Reported Acres. Suggested Use: Most commonly used when one Precision Ag Shape covers multiple CLU's. Use the Calendar icon to select a date or manually enter it into the date field. Note: The Precision Ag Shape info bar at the top shows the plant date associated to the shape.

Enter the acres that were prevented, if any, for this planting. Note: Using the calculator icon will add all remaining CLU acres.

Select the "Clear" button to clear planted acres, prevented plant acres and plant date.

Check the "Uninsurable" box and select a reason if reporting the field uninsurable.

Check to make sure both the "Is Precision Ag" and "Use Precision Shapes" buttons are checked. These must be checked if using processed precision data or 3rd party maps. By having these checked, it will open an inspection at the end of the year for adjusters to work production reporting and any claims that may arise. It also notifies those working on the policy what information and processes to use.

By default, the checkbox for Use PRAG Shape is checked. If you do not wish to use the planted shape from the precision ag data, uncheck that box.

The "Shareholder" button will allow a shareholder(s) and the shareholder unit to be added to the field. Multiple shareholders can be selected from the drop-down list. To unlink a shareholder, click on the red "Unlink" icon. Note: Any adjustments made to the policy will automatically adjust the shareholder's policy.

Click "Save" to save all changes made.

To move to the next planted shape: **Option 1:** Use the arrows at the top to move to the next shape or previous shape. **Option 2:** Select the drop-down at the top to select a specific field. **Option 3:** Select a planted shape (pink shape) on the map to report. Note: Grayed out field names in the drop-down list already contains a reported planting event.

When Keying off Precision Maps, use the Plant Window or AgriNet. Follow steps 24-37 for step by step instructions.

Keying in Plant Window

Click on the field(s) to be planted. A red border will appear around the selected field. Click "Plant" within the black box.

Plant the field according to the Precision Maps and check "Is Precision Ag". Click "Save" When finished.

Although not required, it is highly recommended to upload Precision Maps to Document Imaging for potential review purposes. Save the uploaded documents using the *Precision Ag Planting Summary* form type, then click "Upload" to complete the process.

Keying in AgriNet

Select the "Edit" button next to the unit to view or update unit details.

Select the "Fields" tab.

Click the "Gear Icon" and select the "Is Precision Ag" checkbox to indicate that Precision Ag is being used.

Click "Save and Update Line" once all changes have been made.

Reconciliation

Click "Reconcile" to open the tool.

Use the Unit Linking tab to link any unlinked events and update existing unit links as needed.

Use the Acre Adjustment tab to update Planted Acres, Plant Date, or Prevented Planting (PP) acres as needed. After making any adjustments, click *Save* to apply the changes.

Use the Summary tab to review all planted acres, field acres, and unreported acres. This tab is also used to update acreage lines. Be sure to update acreage lines regularly, especially before generating an acreage report, to ensure totals are accurate and data displays correctly. Updating acreage lines will also synchronize all updated acreage data with AgriNet.

Use the Date Entry tab to enter the Insured Signature Date, Agent Signature Date, and Agent Name. Click "Save", then Select "Processing Finalized" to complete the process. Once these dates have been processed through the Date Entry tab, they do not need to be entered in AgriNet.

At the policy level, select "Enter Form Dates" from the *Actions* drop-down menu. When the Form Entry window opens, enter the required signature dates, click *Save*, and then select "Processing Finalized" to complete the process.

Tips and Tricks

Compare your total reported acres to the total number of planted acres on your metadata sheet to ensure all planted acres have been reported. This sheet is provided by the Digital Ag team.

Switch Layers Within a Policy: While you may display multiple PRAG layers at a time, you might only wish to display one layer at a time. To switch Precision Ag layers within a policy, click the X in the pink Precision Ag Activity Banner one time until you are brought back to the list of Precision Ag Layers.

Switch Policies for Same Insured: You can easily switch between policies of the same insured by clicking the blue book icon to the left of the insured search bar. This will display the insured's other policies. Selecting one will direct you to the selected policy map. You must open the Precision Ag Layer again in order to report.

Seed Rate Warning: This is a simple warning letting you know if the seed rate displayed in the Precision Ag Shape information does not match the rate guidelines for the crop selected. It is suggested to double check the seed rate and crop selected before proceeding.

Exiting Precision Ag: To leave the Precision Ag reporting tool at any time, click the X in the pink Precision Ag Active Banner until all windows are closed.
