Tap on the phone app.

Tap on "Contacts"
If you know the phone number you can type it into the keypad.

Tap on the name of the contact you want to phone.

Tap on the phone icon in a green circle.

Tap on the speaker symbol to turn on loud speaker to make the call volume louder.
Loudspeaker is turned on when the Speaker icon is green. If the icon is white then loudspeaker is turned off.

Tap on the red circle to end the call.
