Applying for Robinson Center Summer Programs

Log into your Robinson Center Account by clicking "MyRC Login" on the top of the page.

Click on "Start a New Application"

Welcome to the Robinson Center Accounts Home page! From here, you can start an application for any of our enrichment or early entrance programs. You can also access and continue applications you have already begun, as well as make payments through our online payment system. Please click on one of the icons below to begin!

If your child is in 5th or 6th grade for the current school year, you will apply to "Summer Challenge." If your child is in 7th, 8th, 9th, or 10th grade for the current school year, you will apply to "Summer Stretch." Click the appropriate program.

Select which child you are submitting an application for. If you are submitting an application for a new student, you can also access that option via "Create a New Student."

Select an existing student, or create a new student.

If your student has previously been enrolled with the Robinson Center before, please be sure to review their grade level to ensure that it corresponds with the current academic year.

Also, be sure to review the primary Legal Guardian contact information. This email will be our first point of contact for *all* program information.

Click "Update Student" to move forward with the application.

You will be prompted to confirm your child's grade level. If you need to correct the grade option, select "change current grade." If you are ready to move forward, select "current grade is correct." Regardless of academic level, students will be enrolled based on their grade.

Once at the "Select Course or Courses" page, review the requirements section and identify relevant qualifiers and instructions. **Summer Challenge and Summer Stretch programs are opportunities to take *one subject* in depth over the course of the program.**

Once ready to make your selection, feel free to use the "filter list" option to peruse courses by focus or title.

Select your courses. Rank them from 1 (for most preferred) to 2 (least preferred). **Only one ranking is required, but we recommend including a 2nd choice in case your preferred class fills up!** Click "continue" when you are ready to move on.

Review the requirements for your selected program. The specific requirements for your student's grade level/ program will be displayed. Select which qualification you wish to submit for consideration.

Click "choose file" to upload your qualification document. **If your student has previously participated in either Saturday Enrichment or the Summer programs, they automatically qualify and no further documentation is required** (*except* for most Summer Stretch Math Classes). Be sure to then click "upload." **Be aware that file size must be under 2 MB or it will not upload.** It is not required that you submit the documents at this stage if you do not have them yet. ***See next step for details.*** If you are applying with a teacher recommendation, you will be prompted to enter their information on the next page. **Please be sure to confirm with your chosen teacher-evaluator *before* submitting your application.** Click "continue" when you are ready to move on.

If a teacher evaluation is chosen, you will be shown the following page. Once we receive the email of your chosen reference, our system will send an automated message to them.

Please provide a reference from a teacher who can represent the appropriate academic subject area that you are applying for. References must be completed by Thursday 2/19 for Challenge, and Thursday 3/5 for Stretch by end of day. **Please provide an institutional email** (eg: a teacher's email that is associated with their school or institution.)

This portion is to ensure that any evaluation is unbiased and truthful. It is considered conventional to waive these rights, but you have the option not to.

NOTICE TO APPLICANT: Under the provisions of Public Law 93-389, The Family Educational Rights Act, and under University guidelines pursuant to that Act, a student (defined as any person who has been officially admitted and registered at the University of Washington) has the right to review evaluations made on his or her behalf unless the student waives this right at the time the evaluation is solicited. If you wish to waive your right, please indicate below by checking the statement which applies to you. The ability to waive your right to review evaluations is a standard part of most university evaluation systems and it is considered conventional to waive these rights. This is a choice that all applicants to the UW are given, but applicants should understand the ramifications of the choice. If you do not waive your rights, the reading committee who is considering your application cannot be confident that the evaluators are submitting truthful and uncensored evaluations of your abilities and character. Instead, we recommend that you talk to your evaluators in advance to ensure they feel confident to write you a strong review. Once you proceed, you will see a summary of your application. Review your information for accuracy.

Confirm application accuracy by checking the box, and move forward to submit the application.

The final page will offer information about the submission process going forward. Applications are processed by Lottery for 2 weeks, then on a first-come first-served basis. Once we review your application and determine eligibility, you will receive more information about payment options.
