Labor Redistribution: Approve a Redistribution and Add Routing Members

Labor Redistribution is the process for changing indexes charged for past pays. This guide provides a step-by-step process for efficiently approving labor redistributions and managing routing members within the Lehigh University system.

Navigate to Your Pending Approvals

Navigate to Employee Banner Self-Service via this link: <https://connect.lehigh.edu/>

Click "Employee Banner Self-Service Dashboard."

Click "Labor Redistribution" to enter the dashboard.

To view pending approvals, first click "Close" on the advanced search tool.

Next, select the "Approvals" tab.

In this tab, you will see any pending Redistribution Approvals. Double-click on a name associated with a Labor Redistribution that you need to approve.

The page which opens includes both the "Current distributions" and the "Updated Distributions." The "Updated Distributions" section is the proposed redistribution that you are approving. All details of the redistribution are on this page. Any additional information submitted by the originator can be found in the "Comments" tab.

Adding Routing Queue Members

Tip! **Sponsored Program Index Managers** will be more likely than other index managers to need to add additional people to a redistribution routing queue. However, it is good to know how to use this tool if it becomes necessary for you. **If you don't need to add people to the routing queue, skip to step 13: Enter Approval Decision.**

The routing queue may be viewed by selecting the "Routing Queue" tab. Here, you can also add people to the routing queue if necessary.

To add people to the routing queue, click the "Add Member" button.

Click in the "Name" drop down box and type the name of the person you want to add. Select their name from the list.

Click in the sequence field. Enter the approver level for this person you are adding to the routing queue as follows: - Sponsored Program index managers: If you are adding ORSP, use level 3. - When adding any other user, add the new member to the same sequence number that you are. - Then add the action for the new routing queue member - Approve or FYI- in the "Action" dropdown box.

Click "Save" to add this approver. Repeat the steps 9-11 to add more people to the routing queue.

Enter Approval Decision

Click the "Redistribution" tab to get back to the main page.

**To approve the redistribution**, click "Approve." You may add a comment if you wish to include additional information as shown in the next step.\ \ **To send the redistribution back to the originator,** click "Return for Correction." If you select this option you will be prompted to add a comment.

Add Comments

To add a comment, select the "Comments" tab and click into the box to type.

When you are done typing, click "Add Comment" to save.
