Navigate to [Feather](https://feather.so/?utm_source=100school&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=7daysofnotion) and click "**Start your free trial**"

Select your preferred option (monthly or annual) and click "**Start your free trial**". Remember, as long as you **cancel within 7 days of the free trial, you won't be charged.**\ \ You will then be asked to enter your credit card information to start your free trial.
Create blog and connect to Notion

Once you've gone through the process of creating your account and signing up for your free trial, click "**Create new blog**" within your dashboard.

Watch the short introductory video. This is essentially the process you'll be running through for the rest of this guide.

Click the "**Duplicate Databases**" option. \ \ What you're doing here is duplicating the Notion databases template from Feather to your Notion account.

Select the workspace where you'd like to add the template and click "+**Add**"

You'll now see the template files from Feather inside your Notion account. If for some reason they don't appear immediately, just search for "Feather" using the search function in the left hand menu.\ \ Click through the pages to see how the databases are constructed for each part of your blog.\ \ After you've explored, come back to this page and click "**Content**"

Open the first post in the "Content" database so you can get a feel for how this post is structured within the text editor.

Browse the post in the right-hand pane before closing it using this button.

You now need to publish this database so that you can connect it to Feather.\ \ Click "**Share**"

Click "**Publish**"

Click this button to copy the URL of your database.

Head back to Feather and click "**Next**".

You'll see a green checkmark if the database has been successfully created and validated.\ \ Now paste the URL you have copied to your clipboard and click "**Connect database**". This maps your "**Content**" database to the Feather platform.

After you've clicked "Connect Database" the page will update and you'll be shown more database configuration options.\ \ Everything on this page is already mapped between your database and template, so you don't need to edit anything, but spend a few minutes looking through the options to see how everything is configured and so you know some of the options available to you.

When you're done, click "**Next**" at the bottom of the screen.

Now you'll need to repeat the process you've just been through (steps 7-17) for the Pages, Tags and Authors databases.

When you're finished, click "**Next**"

Enter a name for your blog and also a unique blog subdomain.\ \ Click "**Finish**"

Once the process is finished, you'll be redirected to your blog's dashboard in Feather.\ \ To get a feel for how everything currently works, click "**Go to blog**". Your blog will open up in a new browser tab.
Create a new blog post

Now you're going to see how easy it is to write posts in Notion, which are then published to your blog.\ \ Head back to Notion, navigate to your Content database and click the "**New**" button to create a new blog post.

Click this button (shown below) to see all the post properties you're able to edit. Post properties are the additional features and functionality you're able to edit that relate to individual blog posts.\ \ Add a blog title, update some of the properties and add some example content to your page.

When you're ready, click this button to close the text editor.

Open your blog in a new browser tab and find the new blog post you've just added .\ \ That's how simple it is to create new blog posts directly from within Notion!
Customize your blog

Head back to Feather and click "**Start customization**" within your blog dashboard.

Select your preferred Blog Template.

Select a Site Mode (you can even add a display mode switcher!)

Select your preferred colour pallette.

Select your preferred Fonts and Button styles.

Select your preferred Navigation Bar layout.\ \ Click "**Save Changes**"

Open your blog again from your Feather dashboard to see how your blog is looking!
