Opening the 'Update dependents information' task

Once you are selected for a UNV assignment, you shall receive an email to complete your UNV personal information and enter dependents information.

Click "Dashboard" to view your tasks Click on the task "Update dependent information" Click "Complete"

It will bring you to the "Assignment details" page Click "Complete" under "Update Dependent information" task

A pop up screen shows as followings. If you do not have a dependent

If you do not have any dependents, please tick on the box "I have no dependents" Then click "Next" -> "Complete" to complete the task

If you have dependents

Recognized primary dependents are immediate family members meeting one of the following criteria: - Spouse or partner: UNV will recognize only one spouse or partner, including those who are part of a recognized partnership or union. - Children: children are defined as biological children, adopted children, and stepchildren, who are not married or not in a recognized partnership or union, and are under the age of 21 at the date of the Commencement of Service.

Dependents already claimed by another UN personnel member cannot also be claimed by a UN Volunteer for purposes of receiving dependency-based benefits and entitlements.

If you have entered dependents in previous assignment If you want to copy dependents data from previous assignment to this assignment, **Click** "Copy dependents from previous assignment". You will see the dependents data copied from previous assignment, if you want to modify the dependents for the current assignments, click "Edit" icon to update. Once you submit, UNV will review your dependents information.

If you do not have dependents from previous assignment, Click "Add dependent" to add new dependent data.

Enter dependent "First name" Enter dependent "Last name" Select dependent "Relationship" = Child, Spouse or Common Law Spouse Select dependent "Gender" Select dependent "Date of birth" Select dependent "Marital status" *Note: the 'Part of PFU' box is pre-checked to inform you that this dependent will be part of your primary family unit. Check the tooltip in UVP and the Conditions of Service for more information.*

***\*For* International UN Volunteer *who wants to request to bring their dependents to travel together with them to the duty station\*\**** 1. duty station is classified as a “family duty station”; 2. The duration of the assignment is a minimum of 12 months; \-> Tick the box to confirm "I want my dependent to travel with me and I confirm that the dependent will stay at least 6 months at this duty station"

Click "Add file" to upload supporting document Multiple files can be uploaded if necessary

**Required supporting document for Child**: upload Birth certificate or Adoption certificate \ In case of new born baby, a hospital birth certificate is not considered as a legal document as a substitute for a registered birth certificate issued by civil authorities. while it may serve as initial proof of birth, it must be submitted to the civil registry to obtain an official document required for legal and administrative purposes.

**Required supporting document for Spouse:** Marriage certificate

**Required supporting document for Common Law spouse:** upload proof of a civil union or partnership recognised by the competent authority under which this union has been established as per Conditions of Service Section IV.3.

Then click "Next" and "Complete" to submit the dependents for UNV review.

After the dependents are submitted for UNV review, you can view the dependent information and the dependent status from the related action "Add/Review dependent information". \ You shall be informed about the dependent review feedback.
