CareerSet: Using the 'Target My CV' tool

Log in to your CareerSet at **careerset.com/qub**

To upload your CV and tailor it to a specific Job Description, click 'Target My CV'.

First, copy and paste the relevant job description into the box.

Once the JD has been pasted into the box, click 'Next'.

Now you can upload your CV - remember that it must be a PDF. The system will then analyse the two documents.

You will then receive your Relevancy Score, which will be on the left hand panel, with a brief description.

Click 'Missing Keywords' to view what keywords and skills in the Job Description are missing from your CV. These keywords are highlighted in Green on the CV (on the right hand panel).

Not all of these words may be relevant - so if necessary, you can click the 'Delete' icon beside a particular word to exclude it from the analysis.

Click 'Found Keywords'.

You can then view a list of keywords and skills within your CV that align with the Job Description.

Click 'Word Cloud'.

You can then view a Word Cloud which will be a visual representation of the key skills within the Job Description. The larger the word, the more important the skill is to the employer.

On the left hand panel, click the handshake icon to review a list of soft skills and buzzwords.

The soft skills and buzzwords are in orange in the CV (on the right hand side). They do not form a part of your Relevancy Score, but you can review their use in your CV.
