If you don't want email alerts from OpenAI, just bookmark [this page](https://status.openai.com/) and you can jump in and see what the status is. I like the alerts because sometimes you might think everything is ok, when actually there is something affecting performance that you should be aware of.

Navigate to [https://status.openai.com/](https://status.openai.com/)

Click "Subscribe to updates"

Choose your preferred method of notification - Email, RSS or Slack. In this case, we're going for Email. Click "Email"

Enter your email address

Unless you want ALOT of notifications, its worth selecting the components relevant to you. Click the "Subscribe to specific components" field.

If you're a "normal" end user, just select ChatGPT..... .....or go even deeper by selecting a drop down.

As a "normal" user, I would suggest the following (select IOS or Android as appropriate to you). Or if in doubt, just select all!

Once you've made your selections, click "Subscribe"

Pro Tip! You'll likely get a LOT of alerts once you have signed up, so I recommend filtering them somewhere where you can refer to them if needed. For instance, by setting up a folder in Email and setting a rule to send them there. If something looks a bit funky on ChatGPT, then you can just refer to the latest emails and see if its you - or it!
