Commodity Level Accounting in ProConnect

For when you need to split FOAPALs by line item, rather than a percentage or amount of the entire requisition. Typically used on requests using: -account code 7645 (fixed asset) and at least one other account or - splitting between 7225 (under $25,000) and 7229 (over $25,000) (Grants)

Navigate to the requisition (if needed)

Click the pencil in the Accounting Codes section

Enter the first FOAPAL being used

Click "Save"

When using an account that has a threshold (like "under $25,000") and you have only 1 item, ***you must split it into at least 2 items***. Depending on the type of order, it might be required to navigate back to the Shopping Home to create a new form. - -- Subawards is an example of when this would need to happen.

If using a threshold account: add "PAY THIS LINE FIRST" in the description (if using a threshold account). If you have multiple items that are using a different FOAPAL, **skip to step 7**

Click "Save"

When using the threshold accounts, please o the same for each line adding "PAY THIS LINE (order number)" for each line.

Scroll down to the line items and click the 3 dots for the 2nd item in the requsition other item is not using the FOAPAL in the Accounting Codes box.

Click "Accounting Codes"

Enter FOAPAL

Repeat steps 21-23 as many times as necessary to assign FOAPAL to specific lines OR leave as is to be charged to the document (Accounting Codes) FOAPAL(s)

Click "Save"

Click "Place Order"
