The "Rate" column group records the per kilogram dollar amount to charge for this route. To start with, we'll enter 0.5 - i.e. $0.50/kg.
The "Charge" column group records fixed values that can be applied to a consignment.
- **Basic charge:** a charge which is included in every consignment.
- **Consignment Minimum:** consignments will always cost at least this much.
- **Smalls:** a flat charge which overrides freight calculations and other charges. Used for consignments of small items.
- **Cubic:** this is a factor which converts freight volume into an **equivalent** weight value. For example, a cubic metre of polystyrene will be very light - so charging by dead weight may cause you to run at a loss! A value of 333 is common, and would mean that the cubic metre of polystyrene would priced as if it were 333kg.
- **GL Code:** this is used for accounting integrations.
