To install connect for AutoCAD, right-click with your mouse on the set-up file. Then select the "Run as administrator" menu option

The Welcome to the Planon Connect for AutoCAD Setup Wizard window appears. Click Next

The Select Installation Folder window appears. Click Next

The Confirm Installation window appears. Click Install

The Installing Planon Connect for AutoCAD progress window appears

The Installation Completed window appears. Click Finish

After installation of the Planon Connect for AutoCAD plugin verify installation Open a drawing downloaded from Planon Right click on the drawing in AutoCAD to open context menu and verify there is a Planon Connect for AutoCAD menu

Setting up Connect for AutoCAD

Download drawing from Planon. Open downloaded drawing in AutoCAD. AutoCAD command to open Planon palette: PLNPALETTE. AutoCAD command to close Planon palette: PLNPALETTECLOSE.

Right click on drawing to open context menu and select Settings

In the Settings dialog enter the Planon url for Dartmouth’s Prod SDK environment (https://facilities.dartmouth.edu/sdk/) and click OK

The Planon URL for Dartmouth’s PreProd environment is https://facilities-pre.dartmouth.edu/sdk/

Right click on drawing to open context menu and select Load space data…

Enter Planon user account with Planon local password

Set desired reference date and click OK

Data will take several seconds to load

Observe update status. Click OK

Working with Connect for AutoCAD

Use the PLNPALLETTE to create custom data mappings on the drawing

Use the PLNPALLETTE to create custom filters on the drawing

The PLNPALLETTE can now be used to filter and view space data on the drawing

Connect for AutoCAD places data in each space but the default size is tiny so must be resized

The size for the mapping text boxes is set in Connect for AutoCAD Settings

Now the mapping text can be seen on the drawing
