Create an Alert for New Contributions to Candidates from California

Navigate to [https://tools.codefordemocracy.org/](https://tools.codefordemocracy.org/)

Launch the "Create a List" workflow

Click "Person"

Click "Go to Next Step"

Make sure "candidate" is selected as the subtype

Click "Categorical Filters"

Select "California" for the state dropdown

Type "2022" for the election year

Click "Go to Next Step"

Leave the exclusion criteria as is and click "Go to Next Step"

Review the list of candidates and click "Go to Next Step"

Name the list "2022 California Federal Candidates"

Make the description "All federal candidates from California running in 2022"

Click "Create List"

Go to the "Create a Query" workflow

Click "Find contributions from committees to a Candidate List"

Click "Go to Next Step"

Choose the "2022 California Federal Candidates" list you just made

Click "Go to Next Step"

Leave the default date settings as is and click "Go to Next Step"

Review the results and click "Go to Next Step"

Name query "Contributions from Committees to 2022 California Federal Candidates"

Click "Create Query"

Go to the "Create an Alert" workflow

Choose the "Contributions from Committees to 2022 California Federal Candidates" query you just created

Click "Go to Next Step"

Leave the default trigger settings as is and click "Go to Next Step"

Change the activation dropdown to "Activate Now"

Name the alert "New Contributions from Committees to 2022 California Federal Candidates"

Click "Create Alert"
