Create a Project in WorksManager (Local Site Calibration)

In order to start a project in WorksManager you must have either a local calibration file (.dc), or the job must be set up on a state plane coordinate system. In addition, it is ideal to have a control file in .csv format so the instrument operator can check into a control point or perform a site calibration.

On the WorksManager home page click on the **My Accounts** tab.

Click on the account you would like to add the project to.

On the account screen select the **Projects** tab.

Click on **CREATE** in the upper right corner.

Assign your project a name. Be sure not to include any special characters.

Click **NEXT** when finished.

In order to create a project in WorksManager we must add either a local calibration file or state plane coordinate system. Click the plus button next to **Calibration** to add a file.

You will need to choose between Local Site Calibration and Published Coordinate System. Click on **Local Site Calibration.**

After clicking **Local Site Calibration** WorksManager will open your computer file explorer. Navigate to where your local calibration file is stored and open it.

After uploading the calibration file, you will need to upload the control file. Click the plus button next to **Control Points.**

After clicking **Control Points** WorksManager will open your computer file explorer. Navigate to where your control file is stored and open it.

Next select your units from the Unit System drop-down menu. Most projects will be in **U.S. Survey Foot.**

Click **NEXT** when all of your configuration files have been uploaded and your units have been set. Be sure to verify the Point Coordinate Order. Most projects will be in NEZ.

Now you need to define a project boundary. Zoom into the job site on the map or enter the address in the search bar in the upper left corner of the map.

To begin creating a project boundary click on **Draw Boundary.**

Each time you click on the map a new boundary point and line will be created. Create a boundary around the perimeter of your job site. Do not overlap the end point with the start point.

When you reach your last boundary point, WorksManager will ask you to close the boundary. Click **OK.**

Once the boundary is closed, click **FINISH** to create the project.

The new WorksManager project will now appear in the **Projects** tab on your account page.
