Create an Authenticx API Connector User in Salesforce

This guide demonstrates how to create a new user in Salesforce specifically for the Authenticx API Connector. Follow these steps to ensure proper setup and permissions for seamless integration.

1. Create a User to Associate with Salesforce Permissions

Navigate to your Salesforce instance.

Click the "Quick Find" field and type "User" to surface quickly.

Click "Users"

Click "New User"

Enter a helpful"First Name" and "Last Name" pairing for the Authenticx Connector.

Enter the Authenticx target email provided to you in onboarding.

Select the "Salesforce Integration" option.

Select the "Salesforce API Only System Integrations" option.

Click "Submit"

2. Create Permission Set for the New User

Click "Permission Sets"

Create new Permission Set.

Provide a helpful name to identify this set, like "Authenticx Connector" and provide a description per your organization's policies.

Select the "Salesforce API Integration" option.

Click save.

Click "System Permissions"

Click "Edit"

Check "Access Activities"

Check "Modify All Data"

Click "Save"

Review and click "Save."

Click "Users"

Click "Authenticx API Connector"

Select your Permission Set just created.

Add to Enabled Permission Sets.

Click "Save"

3. Create the External App and Associate to the New User

Click "External Client App Manager"

Click "New External Client App"

Click the "*External Client App Name" field.

Type "Authenticx API Connector"

Click the "*Contact Email" field.

Type "[authenticxApiConnector@authenticx.com](mailto:authenticxApiConnector@authenticx.com)"

Click "API (Enable OAuth Settings)"

Click "Enable OAuth"

Click the "*Callback URL" field.

Press [[cmd]] + [[v]]

Click "Manage user data via APIs (api)"

Click here.

Click "Enable Client Credentials Flow"

Click "OK"

Click "Create"

Click "Edit"

Click "OAuth Policies"

Click here.

Click the "*Run As (Username)" field.

Type "[apiAuthenticxUser@authenticx.com](mailto:apiAuthenticxUser@authenticx.com) [[Enter]]"

Click the "*Refresh Token Validity Period" field.

Click "Day(s)"

Click "Hour(s)"

Click the "*Refresh Token Validity Period" field.

Click "Save"

Click "Settings"

Click "OAuth Settings"

Click "Consumer Key and Secret"

Click "Submit"
