Pricing: Create and Apply a Bulk Price Change

Learn how to create a one-off or recurring price update using the Pricing function, select your affected customers, notify customers and rollback if needed.

Please note that the Pricing feature is only available on the **Ultimate** subscription.

Creating a Price Update

Click into 'Pricing'. You will see any previous pricing updates here. You can click 'CREATE' in the top right to create a new update.

Here you can edit the name and description of the pricing update. Whilst the name is mandatory, the description is not.

Then, you can choose whether the price change will be by **percentage** or a **fixed** update. You can also choose the date of the pricing update. Please note that the pricing increase will **not** be applied automatically. This date is for your viewing only to remind when the update needs to be manually run. If you try to apply the price change before the planned date, you will be asked to change the planned date first.

If percentage, you will also need to change the percentage value of the update, along with your rounding value - do you want the price increases to be rounded to the nearest 1p, 10p, 25p, 50p of £1.

Ensure to click 'SAVE' once completed.

Creating a Recurring Price Update

Before clicking 'Save', if you want your pricing update to recur every X interval, you can select the 'Recurring' checkbox, as below.

You will then see the option to choose your frequency interval for how often this pricing update occurs. You will see the options: - Monthly - Every 2 months - Quarterly - Every 6 months - Yearly Simply click into the drop down menu and select your desired frequency.

Below the drop down menu, you will see the option to choose when the next recurring draft is based on from: - The date I actually apply this change - The change's planned date - A specific recurring date I choose If you choose the last option, you will need to select the desired date to trigger the next recurring draft.

You will see some guidance below describing what will happen in regards to recurring price updates, and how price updates in general will work with particular global settings.

Again, ensure to click 'SAVE' in the top right to save the price update details.

Curating an Affected Audience

Now, you can select your affected customers or jobs for the change to be applied to.

You will need to create filters to generate your desire audience. You can select the 'Field' drop down menu to filter for certain aspects. For example, if we want to filter for all **active** customers, we would use State > is > active. Make sure to save each filter.

You can also combine filters with 'AND' or 'OR'.

In this example, we are going to combine with 'AND' and add a new filter that is GoCardless > is not > active. Together, this will generate an audience containing only **active** customers **without** an active GoCardless mandate. You can see the audience count on the list below as you save filters.

If you combined these with 'OR' the system would check for each customer that qualifies for **either** of these, not both.

Ensure to save the overall audience once filtered appropriately.

You can view the number of customers in the filtered audience here. You can also edit or clear the audience.

Editing, Applying and Notifying From a Price Update

On the overview of the price update, you can click the top right three dots to Edit the update if needed. You will also see the option to Remove the update completely.

If you want to notify the affected customers, you can select 'Notify' in this menu, and confirm this on the prompt. This will use the Email/SMS Price Change Message Template as set in Settings > Notifications & Messages.

You can also Apply this update via this menu. This will apply the price change instantly and take affect on the customer's next due job. You will also need to confirm this on the prompt.

Once applied, you will be able to **rollback** the pricing update via the same three dots menu if needed.
