Create and Manage a Task in an Opportunity

Start by opening the **opportunity** where you want to create a task. Inside the opportunity, click the **[[Tasks]]** tab.

Click **[[Create Task]]**.

A new task panel or tab will open, allowing you to enter task details. Enter the **[[Task name]]** to clearly describe the work.

Click **[[Create Task]]** in the bottom-right corner.

Once the task is created, you can update its **[[associations]]**, such as Opportunities, Contacts and Companies. *This allows the task to remain connected to all relevant records.*

Use the **[[Status]]** field to update the task’s current status.

Drag the **[[progress bar]]** to reflect the current completion level.

You can continue updating the task by editing the **[[description]]** with new information.

You can also add **[[notes]]** to provide additional instructions or context.

Remember to click **[[Add Note]]** to save the new note.

From here, you can create **[[subtasks]]** by clicking **[[Create Subtask]]**.

This opens a secondary panel where you can add and manage subtask details, similar to a main task. Close the panel to go back to the main task.

On the main task, you can update details such as the **[[task owner]]**

You can select a [[Due Date]].

You can also upload **[[attachments]]** directly to the task to keep all related files in one place.

Click **[[Make Public]]** or **[[Make Private]]** to control who can see the task.

Once the task is complete, click **[[Complete Task]]** in the bottom-right corner.
