Project Home>Subprojects click "New row"

Name your subprojects

Assign your activities to the different subprojects (in this case Phase 1 or 2)

Estimate your hours for each activity in the subproject

You can also add new activities to the subproject through the plus sign

Import activities form the client or basics

Click "Import" if you've chosen activities you wish to import

Estimate activities in the separate subprojects

You can also add purchases to your sub-project

Click the "Cost" field.
