Creating a Segment in Dot Digital

This guide gives you detailed instructions on how to create a segment in Dot Digital with a real time use case. The example scenario which we would be using to explain the steps would be creating a segment that contains contacts who have received SMS in that last 7 days

Log into your Dot Digital Platform and navigate to Audience -> Segments page. To get started with creating a segment, click on the 'New Segment' Button

Click on the 'Select' Button for the Blank Template

The next step is to provide a name for your segment. Add the name in the 'Segment Name' field and choose the Segment location as 'Segments'. Once it's all the values are provided, click on the 'Continue' Button

The next few steps will be instructions on setting up rules for the segment we are trying to create

In the 'Include contacts that match all the rules in this group' field, drag and drop the 'Insight Data' field.

Click on the 'Insight data' field. This will open up an Insight data ''. Choose the dropdown option as 'Tall_Bob_SMS'

Click on 'The number of records' and choose the option as 'is greater than or equal to'

Click on the 'Select Data Field' and choose the option as 'Status'

Set the condition to 'Is equal to' and in the value field, enter 'DELIVERED'

Now it's time to set the next record filter. Set the 'Data Field' to 'Sent'

Set the condition A as 'Occurs' and the condition B as 'in the last' and the number field to '7'

Once all the conditions are set, click on the 'Okay' Button to save the 'Insight data'

Once all the necessary data is provided, click on the 'Generate Segment' Button and to confirm the process, click on the 'Save & generate' Button
