Sign in to **AWS Management Console** as an **IAM User** **Pre-requisite** - Ensure you have selected the AWS region closest to your location\ For this guide, we will be using ca-central-1 (Central) as a preferred choice

Type **Elastic Beanstalk** in the search bar and click on **Elastic Beanstalk** to view the Elastic Beanstalk Dashboard

**What is Elastic Beanstalk?** Elastic Beanstalk is an AWS service that simplifies deploying and managing applications in the cloud. It automates infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and monitoring, allowing developers to focus on coding rather than managing infrastructure details.

On the **Elastic Beanstalk** dashboard, on the right side click on the **Create application** button

**Configure environment** wizard will open, select the option **Web server environment**

Scroll the page and type "**my-second-elastic-beanstalk-in28minutes**" in the text input field

Scroll to the **Environment information** section, type "**My-second-elastic-beanstalk-in28-env**" for **Environment name**

Scroll to the **Platform** section and select the option **Managed platform**

Scroll the page, select **Python** from the dropdown and select the option **4.3.1 (Recommended)** for platform version or whichever is the latest version

Scroll to the **Application code** section, and select the **Sample application** radio button

Scroll to the **Presets** section, select the option **Single instance (free tier eligible)**

On the right side, click on the **Next** button

**Configure service access** wizard will open, select the option **Use an existing service role**

**What is Service role?** In Elastic Beanstalk, a service role is an IAM role that grants permissions to the Elastic Beanstalk service to manage resources on your behalf within your AWS account.

Next, we need to create an EC2 instance profile. To do so, follow the steps below

Type **IAM** in the search bar and click on **IAM** to view the IAM Dashboard

On the IAM dashboard, click on the **Roles** from the left bar

**Roles** wizard will open, on the right side click on the **Create role** button

**Select trusted entity** wizard will open, under **Trusted entity type** section select the option **AWS service**

Scroll to the **Use case** section, on the search bar type "**EC2**" and select the option **EC2** service

Scroll the page and click on the **Next** button

**Permissions policies** wizard will open, search and select "**AWSElasticBeanstalkMulticontainerDocker**" policy

Search and select "**AWSElasticBeanstalkWebTier**" and "**AWSElasticBeanstalkWorkerTier**"

Scroll the page and click on the **Next** button

**Name, review and create** wizard will open, give the **Role name** as "**aws-elasticbeanstalk-ec2-role-2"**

Scroll the page and click on the **Create role** button

Role aws-elasticbeanstalk-ec2-role-2 created

Congratulations on successfully creating the AWS IAM role named aws-elasticbeanstalk-ec2-role-2!

Go back to the **Elastic Beanstalk** page and click on the **EC2 instance profile** dropdown then, select the option "**aws-elasticbeanstalk-ec2-role-2**"

Scroll the page and click on the **Next** button

**Set up networking, database, and tags** wizard will open, select the **default** VPC from the dropdown for **Virtual Private Cloud(VPC)**

**What is VPC in AWS?** VPC stands for Virtual Private Cloud. It's a virtual network environment within the AWS cloud where you can launch AWS resources like EC2 instances, RDS databases, and more. VPC allows you to define your own network configuration, including IP address range, subnets, routing tables, and network gateways. It provides isolation and control over your cloud resources, allowing you to create a logically isolated section of the AWS cloud where you can run your applications.

Scroll the page and Checkbox the Public IP address "**Activated**"

Scroll to the **Instance subnets** section and checkbox all the available subnets

**What are Instance subnets?** In Elastic Beanstalk, instance subnets are the specific subnets within your VPC where the EC2 instances for your application are deployed.

Scroll the page and click on the **Next** button

**Configure instance traffic and Scaling** wizard will open, scroll to the **Root volume type** section and select the option **General Purpose 3(SSD)** from the dropdown

Scroll to the **Capacity** section and select the option **Load balanced** for **Environment type**

Type "**1**" in **Min** and "**2**" in **Max** text fields

Scroll the page to the **Listeners** and select the "**80 Listener Port**" radio button

Scroll the page to the **Processes** and select the "**default** **80 Port**" radio button

Scroll the page and click on the **Skip to review** button

**Review** wizard will open, review the configurations and click on the **Submit** button

Your Elastic beanstalk is being created. **Note:** The creation of the elastic beanstalk will take some time.
