Customize Default Clearances

Learn how to view and edit your default clearances for the Shower Designer. These settings define standard gaps which are applied automatically when creating new designs.

You will require **''Site Admin''** permissions to follow the steps in this guide. If you believe you should have these permissions but you can't access/edit Clearances, please contact your local OBE representative.

Viewing/Editing Clearances

Click on the **menu icon** > select **"Clearances"**

- Select a clearance from the table to view/edit - Update the **"Standard Clearance"** value as needed. The new value will automatically apply the next time you design a shower.

Once a clearance has been edited, the **"Uses Default"** column will display a red cross instead of a tick. To revert back to the system default: - Select the clearance from the table. - Turn the "**Uses Default"** toggle **ON**.

Common Clearances to Review

The **Door Base Gap** sets the default clearance *under a shower door when no seal or swipe is fitted.* This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below. *Note: If you add drip seals or water bars/swipes to a shower, the software will automatically adjust the door gap to allow for these fittings.*

The **Door Head Gap** sets the default clearance *above the shower door when the design extends up to the ceiling.* This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below. Adjust this value to ensure sufficient clearance for the door to swing freely and to maintain ventilation in full-height shower designs.

The **Handle to Wall** Gap sets the default clearance *between the door’s handle edge and the wall* it closes against. This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below.

The **Handle to Glass** Gap sets the default clearance *between the door’s handle edge and the fixed glass panel* it closes against. This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below.

The **Wall Silicone** Gap sets the default clearance *between the glass and any wall or floor where only silicone is used for sealing.* This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below. Adjust this value to allow enough room for a clean silicone joint while maintaining a secure and watertight seal.

The **Glass Silicone** Gap sets the default clearance *between two fixed glass panels where only silicone is used for joining.* This gap is shown by the blue line in the image below. Adjust this value to provide enough space for a neat silicone joint that maintains strength and a watertight seal between adjoining panels.
