Customizing Cephable App and Zoom Shortcuts

You can customize the Cephable App experience through the general app settings which are local to your instance of the app. Scroll to the bottom of the main dashboard page and click General App Settings.

The Click target range is clicking the general app settings in order to customize the local experience of the app.

These settings only apply to the app. So if you run multiple instances of the Cephable app across different devices like a Windows machine and a Mac machine, each of the local app settings only apply for the computer that the app is running on. The settings will reset when you sign out but they will persist as long as you are signed into the app.

After clicking the general app settings button, the user is directed to a local app settings page.

You can automatically start separable when your computer turns on after shutdown. If you have automatic voice or camera controls turned on, then when Cephable will start automatically, the microphone and camera will also turn on. Click the toggle off if you would not like this feature.

The first section is whether you want to automatically start Cephable when you turn on your computer or laptop. A toggle switch is used to control this preference.

You can also customize the Cephable panel through the Local App Settings. Things like where the panel is positioned, and what sections you want in the panel can be controlled from here.

The second section is customizing the panel view.

You can do things like move your panel to the left side of your screen. By default, it is on the right side of your screen.

Clicking the position of the panel lets you customize where the panel should be positioned on your screen. The dropdown currently shows right and left as options.

This is an example of the panel moving to the left side of the screen.

The panel is now positioned on the left side.

You can also customize what sections of the panel are visible.

There are six sections currently listed for the panel. It includes Microphone and Voice Controls, Camera Controls, Quick Action Buttons, Intelligent Tasks, App Controls, and Global & Device Controls.

You can toggle any of these sections off and it will remove it from the panel when you save the settings.

The example is turning of app controls and previews.

The example is also turning off the global and device control section. Note though that even though you turn off a panel section from being visible, the features might still be available through microphone and camera controls. This is true for the global and device controls, which are always on as long as your microphone is turned on.

The user has turned off app controls and previews as well as global and device control sections from showing in the panel.

Once you customize your settings, make sure to click Save in order to see the changes.

At the bottom of the local app settings page, there is a safe button.

Notice that the panel no longer has the app controls and preview section as well as the Intelligent Task section.

The command feed section controls whether you want to receive visible notifications when actions are executed successfully. The panel also gives many indicators that this is happening, but you can always have the command feed as an alternative option.

The cursor is generally pointing to the command feed section in the local app settings.

Turning the toggle on for the command feed now enables visible notifications.

When the toggle is turned on for command feed, there are now two more settings. The first is where the command feed positioning should be. By default, it is in the bottom right. The second is how transparent you want this notification feed to be. Remember to save any and all changes.

There is a rectangle over these additional configuration options that are available and they click target reminding the user to save their settings when you try to customize your local app experience.

When I open my Microsoft Word application, then in the bottom right corner, I see a notification saying that I switched app controls to Microsoft Word Windows. This is part of the command feed notification.

You can also change the theme settings of your app. The default is that for light or dark mode, the app uses your system default settings. Remember because this setting is local, if you are running the Cephable app across multiple devices, you might need to set the light or dark mode per device that you are using.

The app is currently in dark mode because the user system settings are in dark mode and the click target is on the theme that also indicates that the app is currently using the system settings.

You can also override your theme settings by explicitly setting light or dark mode.

There is a drop down for themes that now says light, dark or use OS system settings.

Let's look at an example of setting the app to Light Mode.

The user has selected Light Further theme and is continuing to click the Save button.

The app is now in the Light Mode. You can repeat the above steps to reset it to dark mode.

The user's app is now in light mode and the click target is back on the theme dropdown.

Now that you have learned to customize your Cephable experience through the local app settings, let's take a look at Zoom in, Zoom out, and reset functionalities. The default zoom settings in use your system settings.

This screen is back to the default app settings that a user starts with.

To zoom in, click anywhere in the larger main window and click Ctrl/+ for Windows or Cmd/+ for Mac. Notice that the items and text font in the dashboard window are now larger but the panel font and item sizing remains the same. This is intentional because each window of the Cephable app can be customized for different zoom settings.

The text font and items in the larger window screen are now larger but the panel window font size remains the same.

You can also reset the main Windows Zoom settings back to System Settings by pressing keyboard shortcuts, Ctrl/0 for Windows and Cmd/0 for Mac.

The user has reset their dashboard zoom settings by clicking Ctrl/0 or Cmd/0 as appropriate.

You can do the same in the panel by zooming in with Ctrl/0 for Windows or Cmd/0 for Mac. Make sure to click into the panel when you are adjusting the zoom settings.

The panel font items have increased in size because of the zoom in behavior.

As with the main dashboard window in the panel you can also reset or minimize your items and font size. To reset press the keyboard shortcuts, Ctrl/0 for Windows and Cmd/0 for Mac. You can also zoom out any of these windows by pressing Ctrl/- for Windows or Cmd/- for Mac.

The view is reset for both windows as the user zoom functionality is done.
