This guide supports anyone looking to enhance their productivity through speech-to-text dictation technology with Cephable. It explains how to seamlessly integrate dictation across various applications like Microsoft Word and Outlook, making it easy to compose text hands-free.

[[Cephable’s dictation provides speech to text across all the apps and programs you already use. Get started by turning on your microphone in the panel.]]

The following series of images in this Scribe include a screenshot of a PC desktop with the Cephable Panel (small window on the right side of the screen with toggles for microphone & camera controls, a summary of app controls for the relevant app, and a menu of global & device controls). Microsoft Word & Outlook are open in various examples to showcase controls. Context for each app, button press, and click will be provided in each step.

Make sure the app controls in your panel match the program where you are working. In this example, we are using Microsoft Word.

You can switch into dictation mode from standard listening mode by either clicking the dictation button in the panel. Or you can say the global control "dictate" to switch modes with your voice.

Now that we are in dictation mode, make sure you are clicked into the app where you want to insert text. In this example, click into a blank Word document and begin dictating a sentence.

Now your sentence is pasted into the Word document. Use the global control, "stop dictation" to switch back into Listening Mode so you can access the app controls to edit like "cut" "copy" "paste" as seen in the available controls in the panel.

Say the available voice command "select all" and Cephable will highlight all the text

Say "delete", another available voice command and Cephable will remove the text from your document.

Try in other apps like, Outlook to compose emails. Click into the subject line of Outlook.

Use quick dictation in "Listening Mode" using the trigger word "type" + whatever you want to Cephable to type. Quick Dictation is helpful for short phrases while you are also using available voice commands. Full dictation mode is helpful for larger bodies of text.

Say "Tab" to use the voice control to move from the subject line to the body of the email.

Click "Dictation" in the panel or use the global control, "dictate" to return to full dictation mode to compose an email.

Dictate a sentence like "Let's go out to dinner tonight period Where would you like to go question mark" Your speech will be pasted into Outlook or wherever your cursor is focused.

Click "Pause" in the panel or say "Stop Listening" to pause your Cephable Microphone.
