Index

The **Index** shows: - Job ID - Proceeding Date - Exhibit Count (for each witness connected to this case)

Hyperlinks

Each Job ID is **hyperlinked** and will take you directly to that witness.

Let's go to Ethan Hunt's job.

By clicking that hyperlink, it took us to page 4, where Hunt's exhibits begin.

We can then go to specific exhibits from Hunt's deposition by clicking the **hyperlinked exhibit**.

Opening PDF Exhibits

If it's a PDF, another tab will open and the exhibit will appear. You can continually open more PDF exhibits and that will keep creating tabs.

Opening Other File Types

If the exhibit is a file type other than a PDF:\ *"Click the paperclip icon on the right sidebar to find & open the attachment."* - The file types you can open on the sidebar are - image - audio - video - Zip files have a different method (shown later)

You may receive this dialogue box when opening up files in their native application.

Zip Files

If you need to open a zip file, right click on the file and select "**Save Attachment**."

You need to **rename** the file with **.zip** at the end, even if it already has that at the end.

- Once you rename the file, select where you want to save the folder. - For this example, we're saving it in our downloads. - Then save the new zip folder.

Now you can go back to where you saved the folder and can **extract all** from there. Select the folder destination and hit extract one more time.

Now just wait for the extraction to complete.

You can now view the extracted folder and have the ability to open any file from it. *Here's one example opening up a PDF.*

Back to Index Shortcut

When you're done viewing the exhibits for the witness, you can go back to the index at the bottom of each page.

Additional Volumes

If binder exceeds 8 GB in memory, the case will be split up into **additional volumes.**

The index page will list the **volumes** and which witnesses are under each volume.

If a witness is **continued** from another volume, we'll let you know under their name.

You can click the hyperlink for volume 2 and it will open that volume in another tab.

You may receive a dialogue box saying, *"This document is trying to access:"*\ \ [[Select Allow]]

A new tab will open and take you directly to volume 2 of the exhibits for this witness.

We'll also let you know if the witness is in another volume right below their exhibits. \ *"Additional exhibits for this witness appear..."*

- In order for the hyperlinks to work between volumes, they need to be saved in the same location. - You cannot rename the files or else they become invalid. - The index will still list the volumes where the witnesses are contained, but the hyperlinks will no longer work.

The format will look very similar to the desktop version.

If you select a **hyperlinked** job to a particular witness, you'll be taken directly to that witness, just like the desktop version.

Select any exhibit to open.

Selecting the back sign is the proper way to go to the previous page.

If you open a video file, it will automatically start playing.

If you open a picture file, it will automatically open as well.

*"Back to Index"* will be at the bottom of each page, just like the desktop.

Access the files or go directly to a witness is by selecting the **outline** book icon.

This will bring up each witness and have a drop down option for all exhibits connected to them.

Navigate to the desired witness and/or exhibit.

Once you select a particular item, it will take you directly there, just like a hyperlink.

If you select the **paperclip icon** at the top right, it will bring up all the **attachments** in the index. The file type is also indicated.

Selecting the 3 dots will bring you back to the outline.

Annotating on iPad

To **highlight**, select the highlight tool and choose your preferred color.

It will highlight whatever text you select.

If you want to add any text, select the **text box** icon and desired color. *"Tap where you want to insert Text"*

Add the text.

You can adjust the font, size & color at the bottom.

If you want to add notes, select the note/comment icon and desired color.

Select **done** when complete.

This is what it will look like when a note is added.
