This guide offers a comprehensive walkthrough for first-year students navigating the residency intent and housing application process at Loyola. It simplifies each step, ensuring students understand how to apply for on-campus or off-campus living, complete necessary forms, select meal plans, and request a roommate (optional). By following this guide, students can avoid common pitfalls and make informed decisions about their housing options, facilitating a smoother transition to campus life.

Contact Information & Residency Intent

Navigate to Navigate to RoomRez (via InsideLoyola under the "Around Campus" section or under Resources on the ResLife website).

Click "Application" on the top menu bar.

Click "Apply" for the Academic Year. Please make sure not to select Summer.

Click "Save & Continue"

Review the information on the page to confirm it is accurate. Complete required fields.

Click "Save & Continue"

Enter your emergency contact information for a primary and secondary contact.

Complete the Missing Person Contact information then click Save & Continue.

Preview the information on the process overview page.

Select whether you plan to live on campus or off campus via the drop down. Then click "Save & Continue."

Pages for those who choose to live off campus are Steps 11 - 13. Steps for those who intend to live on campus resume at Step 14.

Living Off Campus

If you choose to live off campus, you will be directed to an information page. Select from the drop down for your reason for choosing to live off campus.

Students living off campus may opt into a meal plan if they choose via the drop down menus for each semester. If you do not want a meal plan, both Fall and Spring sections should read "Please Select Meal Plan." Click "Save & Continue."

Click "Confirm & Submit" to complete your Residency Intent.

Living On Campus

If you choose to live on campus, you will be directed to the Housing Contract. Please make sure to read thoroughly.

Once you have read the contract, enter your student ID number as you signature. Then Click "Save & Continue."

Next you will complete the Roommate Questionnaire. This is the information that is used to pair you with a roommate.

Think about how you hope to use your room and what environment you need to be successful.

One you have completed all the fields, click "Save & Continue."

Choose whether you want to opt into All Gender Housing. Choose yes from the drop if you do OR levce the dropdown to say (Please Select) if you do not. If you select yes, there will be an additional page where you will sign the All Gender Housing agreement.

Navigate the pages about selecting Renter's Insurance via GradGuard.

All residential students must select a Meal Plan.

All First Year students must select the Evergreen Plan from the dropdowns for Fall and Spring. Then click "Save & Continue."

Review information about our approved vendors the click "Save & Continue."

The First Year Residential Communities page has infomation about the halls you may live in.

You can click on the photos to get more infomation on the "buildings" page of our website or click the link for a virtal tour. When you have reviewed the infomation, click "Save & Continue"

Completing the Roommate Request page is **OPTIONAL**. If plan to request a direct roommate, you must have checked the box to be displayed in the roommate search. Then you can select the options on the page to form a roommate group.

If you are not requesting a roommate, click "Save & Continue."

Creating a roommate request

Decide which person in the pair will make the group. That person will create a group on the roommate request page and be designated the "Group Leader." Note: If you both create groups, you won't be able to find each other!

The group leader will fill out the group details then click "Save Group."

The group leader will click "Search for Roommates by Details." It is easiest to have the group leader search for their intended roommate, rather than the intended roommate search for the group. Note: You must have the box checked next to the roommate search pages for someone to find your profiles in the system.

Enter your requested roommate's Webname, which is most often their email address (unless they have updated it on the Roommate Questionnaire page).

**Having a tough time finding your intended roommate?**\ The most common reasons are: \ -Both of you have created a roommate group and are no longer searchable. One of you will need to delete the group.\ -You did not check off the box that allows you to be searchable on the roommate pages. Log back into RoomRez and check the box off on the Roommate Request page.\ -One of you selected All Gender Housing and the other did not. You can update this on the All Gender Housing page.

One the Group Leader find's the person they want to request's profile click "Add to Group." This will send a request to the person added, which they will need to login to accept.

The person who is sent the request will see the below page and have the option to accept or decline.

If the request is accepted, then the group and roommate information will appear on the screen for both students.

Once the group is complete the group leader will click "Verify Group" then click "Save & Continue."

Another way to search for roommates is to click on the other search links. If you cannot find the person you're looking for, that likely means they have not yet completed their application OR your selections for All Gender Housing do not match.

When you see someone's profile form any of the search features, you can view their profile, which will display their answers to the roommate questionnaire.

Submit!

This is the last page of the application. Click "Confirm & Submit" to submit your application!
