Getting Started with OVTLYR: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

The OVTLYR platform is designed to be user-friendly, with tools and insights accessible directly from the dashboard. Follow these steps to make the most of your experience:

Click "My Account"

Enter your credentials to log in.

Access the Dashboard Tab

**Locate and Open the Dashboard Tab** - Once you log in, the Dashboard is usually the first thing you see. - If needed, you can access it by selecting the Dashboard tab from the right sidebar, which is represented by an icon resembling a desktop screen.

**Select a Stock/Ticker** - Use the search bar at the top to enter a stock symbol (e.g., BAC for Bank of America). - Once selected, the system will load the relevant chart and metrics for that stock.

Click the Star Icon to add the stock to your favorites list.

You can add it to your default favorite list or create your own personalized list.

Click "Okay"

Charting Overview

- **Buy/Sell Signal**: Indicates the recent Buy/Sell signal. Red with an "S" for Sell Signal, Green with a "B" for Buy Signal. - **OVTLYR 9 Pass Count**: Indicates how many of the OVTLYR NINE passed. #/9 - **OVTLYR Channels (OC)**: Red indicates Fail, Green indicates Pass - **Capital Efficiency (CE)**: Green indicates that the Capital Efficiency is greater than 1 and Red if it's less than 1 - **OVTLYR Signals Return (+ve/-ve)**: Green indicates a positive signal return while Red if it's negative.

**OVTLYR 9** is a unique way to analyze opportunities by looking at Market, Sector & Stock at once.

**Price Chart (Top Panel):** - Observe the main price chart with green and red candlesticks representing bullish and bearish movements. - Look for uptrend or downtrend zones highlighted in green or red, respectively. - Pay attention to the Buy (green flag) and Sell (red flag) signals for trading opportunities.

**Heatmap**\ This highlights the levels of investor sentiment, such as fear and greed, allowing traders to identify potential market opportunities based on extreme emotional behaviors. - View the heatmap score for a quick assessment of stock performance. - Scores range from R0-50 and G0-50 - Scores in the Red area reflect fear in the stock - Scores in the Green area reflect greed in the stock - Pay close attention to the direction of the fear and greed score - If the score is moving up, that means fear is leaving the stock and greed is coming in - If the score is moving down, that means greed is leaving the stock and investors are getting more fearful - Check the value for overbought or oversold conditions. - Typically, values above G40 signal overbought conditions (potential reversal or pullback), while values below R40 suggest oversold conditions (potential for a rally).

**Constituent Heatmap**\ The Constituent Heatmap visually represents the average greed and fear levels among financial constituents. These represent the stocks within that sector and how they are behaving as a whole. - **Key Metrics:** - Displays the average greed level among the sector. - Displays the average fear level among the sector - Greed %: Percentage of sector stocks exhibiting any level of greed behavior.

#### **Market Breadth Details** Market Breadth provides a snapshot of the S&P 500's momentum, showing the percentage of stocks in uptrends (Bull List) and downtrends, alongside their daily changes (deltas). - **Bull List Percentage** - Shows the percentage of stocks in the sector with buy signals - Higher percentages indicate stronger bullish momentum - You can also click the S&P 500 box and it will add in the percentage of stocks in the S&P 500 showing a buy signal - **Uptrend/Delta** - The first number shows the total stocks in an uptrend; the second is the net change in uptrend stocks. - Positive delta indicates momentum is strengthening. - **Downtrend/Delta** - The first number shows the total stocks in a downtrend; the second is the net change in downtrend stocks. - Negative delta suggests stabilization or fewer stocks entering downtrends. - **Visual Indicators** - Green Bars (Uptrend): Stocks in uptrend. - Red Bars (Downtrend): Stocks in downtrend. - Gray Bars: When there is less uptrend and more downtrend

**Custom Chart Tools**\ On the left side of the dashboard will be custom tools you can use to draw, label, and indicate.

- **Horizontal Line** - Click here to draw a horizontal line/s in the price chart. - Click on the line again to edit the color and label or to remove the line. - You can also move the line by holding left-mouse click on the line and moving it up and down to your desired position.

- **Toggle Charts** - Click here to hide/show charts - Buy/Sell Signal Flags - Uptrend/Downtrend Overlay - Constituent Heatmap Timeline Chart - Market Breadth Chart

- **Indicators** - Click here to add/edit chart indicators - Enable/Disable OVTLYR Order Blocks

Step

- Edit EMA overlays linked to the Market Breadth - Choose which indicators to show - Choose the color of the indicator/s

- **Lines** - Click to plot the starting point and click again to plot the end point to draw a straight line. - Click and hold the endpoints to move/adjust the line. - Click on the little arrow at the bottom right of the icon for more options

- **Crooked Lines** - Click four times at any point in the chart to draw four connected lines. - Click the line to edit the color and labels. - Click at the points then hold to drag and move/adjust the lines. - Click on the little arrow at the bottom right of the icon for more options

- **Measure**\ To display measurement details for a specific area on the price chart, click and drag across the desired range. The tool will display the following information: - **Minimum Price** – the lowest price within the selected range - **Maximum Price** – the highest price within the selected range - **Average Price** – the mean value of prices within the range - **Bins** – the number of data intervals used for statistical grouping within the selection - Click on the little arrow at the bottom right of the icon for more options

- **Fibanocci Retracement Levels** - Add Fibanocci Retracement Levels on the chart - Click on the little arrow at the bottom right of the icon for more options

- **Toggle Annotations** - Hide/show all annotations

- **Fullscreen Mode** - Toggle fullscreen mode

- **Type Change**\ Click on the little arrow at the bottom right of the icon for more options - Changes the chart type

- **Current Price Indicators** - Toggle show current price indicator for each section.

- **Save Chart**\ Saves your current custom settings on the chart.

Check Volatility and Performance Metrics

**News (Right Panel)**:\ Read **real-time news headlines** related to the selected stock or sector for insights.

- **Stock Details** - Quickly view essential stats like the **30-Day Average Volume**, **Current Signal (Start Date)**, **Current Swing, Signal(Start Date), Overlay(Start Date), Last Date Close**, and **Expense Ratio**.

**Constituent Map** - **Red Area (Fear Map)** - Represents stocks ranked by their fear sentiment. - Indicates the number of companies reflecting fear. - **Green Area (Greed Map)** - Represents stocks ranked by their greed sentiment. - Indicates the number of companies reflecting greed.

- **Directional Volatility Histogram** - Analyze the histogram showing price fluctuations. - Green bars signify upward movements, and red bars signify downward movements.

- OVTLYR Zones: measures the difference in volatility and outcomes to help categorize where the stocks fit.

**Performance Summary**\ Click on the Performance Summary expand button

**Choose Time Frame:** - In the Performance Summary view, select a time frame such as 3M, 6M, 1Y, or Max to adjust the analysis period. - Compare Metrics: - Examine the comparative chart. The blue line represents the OVTLYR strategy performance, while the red line shows the Buy & Hold strategy. - Review key metrics on the right, such as: - Total Trading Days - Buy Signals - Average Holding Period - Signal Return - Capital Efficiency - Maximum Drawdown

**Toggle Signal Mode** Switching Signal Mode will update signals, charts, and all lists across the website. This change will apply globally and alter your current view.

Customize and Navigate

**Adjust Timeframes:**\ Use the time slider at the bottom of the charts to zoom into specific periods.

**Hide/Show**:\ The Hide/Show menu allows you to customize the interface by toggling the visibility of various sections. - **Column 1**: Removes Stock Details, Strategy: Mastery Key, Daily Stock & Sector Heatmap, Constituent Map, Directional Volatility Histogram - **Column 2**: Removes Select List, News and Notes.

Navigate the Select List

- **Choose Stocks or ETFs**: - At the top-right of the dashboard, select between **Stocks** or **ETFs** to focus your analysis. - **Review Signals**: - The list provides the **Current Signal** (Buy or Sell) and the **Last Signal Date** for each symbol. - Use the **Star Icon** to mark important stocks for easy tracking in the future.

Utilize the Notes Feature

- At the bottom, you’ll find a section labeled **Notes**. Use this to document ideas, predictions, or trading strategies. - Click the **Plus Icon** to add a new note.

- Enter the **name** and the **text** of your note. - Click **Save**.

Manage Your Account

**Settings** - Click on the **Gear Icon** at the bottom-right corner to open the settings.

**Access the Discord Community** - Click on the **Discord Icon** at the bottom-right corner to join the OVTLYR Discord server. - This will direct you to an invitation page where you can connect with the community, access support, and share insights with other members.

Access the Market-Breadth Tab

From the sidebar, locate the **Market Breadth** or similar icon that resembles a chart (at the right-hand side).

**Select Full Stocks or Sector**: - At the top of the page, choose between **Full Stocks** (entire market) or a specific sector from the dropdown menu.

**Explore the Chart Panels**: - **OVTLYR Index (Top Panel)**: Review the blue line representing the index’s trend over time.

- **Bull List % (Middle Panel)**: Analyze the oscillating percentage of bullish stocks, with EMA overlays. - Enable/disable overlays by clicking on them (e.g., EMA 5, EMA 10, EMA 20, EMA 50).

- **Uptrend/Downtrend (Bottom Panel)**: Check for net bullish or bearish movement in the market with green (uptrend) or red (downtrend) bars.

- Utilize the **scroll bar** at the bottom to zoom into specific timeframes or pan across the data.

- **Sector** - Select a sector to view its breadth indicators - You can choose between 5 EMA and 10 EMA - Sort by High to Low, Low to High

Access the Screener Tab

Click on the **"Screener"** icon in the sidebar (looks like sliders), in the left-hand panel.

**Select Filtering Options**\ You can customize your search using the filters provided in the Screener section: **Sector/Index & Industry:** - Use the dropdown menus under **Sector/Index** and **Industry** to narrow down stocks based on industry or market sector.

**Industry**

#### **Price Change:** Select criteria for **Price Change** from the dropdown. Options include: - No selection, days, months, or a year.

- 5% or more, or other custom percentages.

#### **Price Range:** Input minimum (**Min**) and maximum (**Max**) values in the **Price Range** fields to limit the stock selection to a specific price range.

### **Use Technical Filters** - **OVTLYR Signal Return:** - Choose stocks based on their signal return (e.g., All, specific ranges).

### **Adjust Heatmap Value Range** Drag the slider to focus on specific fear & greed heatmap ratings:

### **Filter by Market Cap** Adjust the **Market Cap** slider to filter stocks within a specific market capitalization range (e.g., $0 - $10T).

### **Use Overlay Indicators** - Toggle the switches for: - **Uptrend Indicator** - **Downtrend Indicator** - **Neutral Indicator** - These will highlight stocks based on their trend indicators.

### **Apply Filters** After setting your desired criteria, click the **"Apply Filter"** button to generate a list of stocks that match your parameters.

### **Save Your Screener** To save this configuration for future use, click the **"Save"** button in the top-right corner.

Enter a name for your **filter** then click **Save**.

### **Analyze Results** - **Review the results** displayed below the filters. Columns include: - Symbol: The stock ticker and name (e.g., AAL - American Airlines). - Last Close Price - Current Signal: (e.g., Buy, Hold). - Signal Start Date - OVTLYR Signal Return (% return). - Capital Efficiency: A measure of how efficiently a stock uses its capital. - Sector/Industry - Overlay - Overlay (Start Date) - OC Status - 30-Day Avg. Volume - Fear & Greed Heatmap & Direction - Price Change - **Customize Columns** *(Optional)* - Use the column headers to sort or filter data in the results list as needed.

Access the Watchlist Tab

Click on the **star icon** in the sidebar to open the **Watchlist** tab.

### **Understand the Watchlist Structure** The Watchlist tab is divided into three main sections: - **Favorites**: Your manually selected favorite stocks. - **Bull List**: A list of stocks with a **Buy** signal - **Bear List**: A list of stocks with a **Sell** signal

### **Manage the Favorites Section** - **Add Favorites**: Click on the star icon next to a stock in the other lists (Bull/Bear) or from the Screener tab to add it to your Favorites. - **Switch View**: Use the toggle button (grid or list view) to customize how the Favorites section is displayed. - **Track Alerts**: The orange badge next to the stock symbol shows the number of new updates or alerts for that stock.

### **Navigate the Bull and Bear Lists** #### **Bull List:** - Contains stocks with strong **Buy** signals. - Switch between **Stocks** and **ETFs** using the tabs in this section. - View key details such as: - **Symbol** - **Current Signal** (e.g., Buy) - **Last Signal Date** #### **Bear List:** - Contains stocks with strong **Sell** signals. - Similar to the Bull List, you can toggle between **Stocks** and **ETFs** and analyze key details.

Access the News & Analyst Ratings Tab

Click on the **document icon** in the sidebar labeled **News & Analyst Ratings**.

### **Stock News Section** - **Search for a Stock**: - Use the search bar to type a stock symbol and filter relevant news articles. - **View Articles**: - Scroll through the articles to see headlines, summaries, and key highlights related to the selected stock or general market trends. - Each article displays: - The stock tickers involved. - The publication source and timestamp. - Sentiment indicators (e.g., Positive, Negative, Neutral). - **Expand View**: - Use the **expand icon** (two arrows) in the top-right corner of this section for a larger view of news content.

### **Analyst Ratings Section** - **Search for a Stock**: - Use the search bar in this section to find analyst ratings for a specific stock symbol. - **View Ratings**: - Review the list of stocks, their respective brokerage firms, and the latest **Ratings Changes**, such as: - "Underperform → Buy" - "Market Perform → Outperform" - "Buy → Hold" - This helps to identify potential upgrades, downgrades, or neutral stances from leading analysts. - **Expand View**: - Click the **expand icon** in the top-right corner of the Analyst Ratings section for more detailed exploration.

### **Trending Headlines** - **Key Stories**: - Scroll through a curated list of trending news topics affecting major companies, sectors, or the market overall. - Each headline highlights: - Associated stock tickers. - Sentiment emojis (Positive, Neutral, or Negative). - The brokerage firms and key context. - **Dive Deeper**: - Click on a headline to view related articles or analyses.

### **Check High Coverage News** - **Top Stories**: - High-impact news items are displayed here with summaries and multiple perspectives. - **Interactive Tags**: - Click on tags (e.g., stock tickers or topics) to filter stories and dive into specifics. - **Sentiment Indicators**: - Each story provides sentiment analysis (Positive, Negative, Neutral) for quick insights.

Notification & List Management

Click on the **Bell icon** labeled **Notification & List Management**

**Notifications**\ View real-time alerts for all Stocks and ETFs on your favorites list in one place. - This displays the latest signal activity, including Buy/Sell alerts, Uptrend/Downtrend shifts, and current sentiment from the Fear & Greed Heatmap.

**Notification Management**\ Control which Stocks and ETFs trigger alerts across your favorites list. - Enable, disable, or edit notification settings for each symbol to fine-tune what matters most to you.

**List Management**\ Customize your favorites list with ease. - Add or remove Stocks and ETFs to keep your watchlist clean, relevant, and aligned with your trading focus.

Click **Select & Remove Stock** to remove Stocks you don't want to monitor to keep your watchlist clean, relevant, and aligned with your trading focus.
