How To Add An Event on a Chapter Website Using Calendar View

Navigate to your website log in link.

Enter your credentials and log into the site by clicking "Log In".

Once you log in, you'll be taken to the dashboard. You don't need to click anything here; just verify that your screen looks like the image below.

Click "Events" from the menu bar on the left hand side.

Click "Add New".

Click the "Add title" field and type in the name of your event.

Click the box for the start and end date. This will bring up a calendar and you can select the date for your event. Be sure to enter your start and end time, and select the correct time zone.

Under venue, you can leave it blank or select from the drop down list if there are options listed. You can leave the map options on or deselect them if it's a virtual event.

Under organizer, select your chapter name.

Under event website, paste in a URL that goes to the event registration.

You can add an event cost or leave it blank if the event is free.

Under Avada Builder, Click the Blue Button that says "Container". The below window will open and you can click on the container that is best for your description. (that's most likely the first box 1/1)

Then click on the word "Element" within that container box.

Select the option from the menu that makes most sense for your event. This is most likely a text box to include a description of the event.

Type in your event description and click save. It will add it to the container like pictured below.

Click "Element" again and select the Button option. This will add a registration button so people can register directly from the event on your website.

In the button details window, paste in the URL for the event registration.

Update the text that will be on the button to Register Now or Register Here.

Select "\_blank" to have the registration link open in another window.

Click "Center" if you want the button centered.

Click "SAVE". Now it will take you back to the container view where you should see your event description and registration button.

Click the "Excerpt" field. Paste your event description here. This helps the Google crawlers find and highlight your event in the Google.

You can preview your event by clicking the black "Preview" button. It will open in another window, and you can see what it will look like on your events page. If it looks good, click the blue "Publish" box and it will now be live on your website. If something needs fixed before publishing, you can go back in and edit by hovering over the text and clicking the pen looking icon.
