How To Create A Portfolio Page In WordPress

Click "Portfolio" - this is where your projects are created.

Click "Edit" when hovering over project

Gallery items can be edited here

Screenshot preview doesn't show the images - but this is the media library where new pics can be chosen that are already uploaded, or you can upload your own. click blue button after choosing to select.

New image will be shown.

Appearance tab at the top shows how the gallery will display, feel free to amend the settings here

Enlarging images on click setting is here

Click "Save changes"

Text can of course be changed here, too. Update the page overall to save.

Adding a new portfolio page - click "Add Portfolio Page"

Set the title

Click "Backend Editor" if not already applied. Click on the template icon. (located between the plus icon and the white box that says 'paste row/section' in the blue bar at the top of the editor)

This will bring up saved 'templated' layouts. I have created one for portfolio items.

Click "Portfolio Base Template"

This will pre-populate the layout with the elements needed to create a new project.

Text on the left and images on the right can be edited. Button element can be moved around, or deleted if not required.

The two sections at the bottom of the project can be toggled on and off. Hover over the row and click the pencil icon.

Navigate to the display logic tab

Click the "Disable this Row" field and save changes to apply.

The row containing the gallery is now not visible on the front end.

Carousel can be edited and images updated to new project.

Click "Set featured image" (which is on the right of the editing page (between slider revolution settings and page layout box)

Choose image (existing or upload new)

Click "Set featured image" to apply - you will see image in place.

Check the "Projects" field under categories to ensure it appears on the projects page on the front of the site.

Publish to finish

Click "[violet-mole-464383.hostingersite.com](http://violet-mole-464383.hostingersite.com)" at the top to see the website on the front. I like to open this in a new browser tab so that I can work on the back editing and refresh the page on the front at the same time.
