How To Create Credly Completion Rules In Canvas

This guide shows you how to connect Credly to Canvas for automatic badge issuing AFTER IT installs it in your course. If Credly has not been installed in your course, please contact an OPWD admin as they have the authority to ask IT to add it.

Navigate to <https://elearning.ufl.edu/>

Click "Log In To E-Learning"

Click on the courses icon and find the course you wish to connect Credly to.

Click on "Credly" or "My Credentials" as it is called in some courses. Reminder: when IT adds Credly to canvas, they may have kept it in hidden navigation so be sure to check there if you cannot find it right away.

Search for your credential name. If you cannot find your credential name, be sure you added it to your collection in Credly. Only credentials in your specific collection will show up. Once you have found your credential, click "Manage Rules"

Click "Add Rule"

Click the "Name" field to name your rule.

Click the "Assignment or Module" field to select what resource will issue the credential upon completion.

In my example I am using the final exam completion to issue the credential so I have to set a passing percentage. Click the "Minimum Requirement" field to set the requirement students need to complete in order to receive the credential.

Click "Save" once your rule has been set.

Credly does NOT issue a credential the second a student completes the course. Every few hours, Credly with comb through the course, find who meets the rule requirement set and then it emails the student their credential. Do not panic if a student completes and a credential is not issued right away.
