How To Search for an Advance Project or Missionary and Submit a Donation in GEMS

This guide shows how to quickly find an Advance Project or Missionary in GEMS, review project details, share listings, and complete one-time or recurring donations. It explains linking your UMC church or donating on behalf of a church, choosing payment frequency, and submitting payments (including that the first recurring payment is charged immediately). Follow it to donate accurately and efficiently.

For this guide, we are using Advance Projects, however, the process is the same for Missionaries

From the GEMS Portal homepage, click either "Find Advance Projects" or "Find a Missionary"

Enter either a name, Advance number, or location on the Search field and then click "Search"

On the results page, click either the name of the project or "Read More"

Click "Read more" to find out more information about the Advance Project

More information about the Advance Project will appear on the screen.

Click "Share" if you want to share the Advance Project with others

You can either share it by copying the link, or sharing it directly via social media or email.

Click "Donate Now" if you wish to donate to the Advance Project

Click "Single" for a one-time donation and enter the required information

You may search, find, and select your UMC church on this search field to acknowledge your church alongside your personal donation.

If you are a pastor, employee, or officer of your local church making a donation on behalf of your local church, please check this box.

Click "Donate Now" to submit your payment. If you have additional donations you wish to make, click "Add to Cart" instead.

Click "Recurring" if you wish to make a recurring donation either Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually.

Click "Donate Now" to submit your payment. If you have additional donations you wish to make, click "Add to Cart" instead.

**Please note that the first payment of your recurring payment will be taken from the payment method you enter immediately.**
