To download eBooks to your device, you will need an app that will open .acsm files, such as Adobe Digital Editions, PocketBook, or BlueFire. These applications allow you to read eBooks protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management (DRM). DRM is used on [VleBooks.com](http://VleBooks.com) to ensure that all eBooks are being used within the terms of the licence purchased by your institution. Please note, if you are using an Android that is running the latest software (Android 13 or higher), you will need to use the PocketBook app.

Open the App Store on your device and search for Adobe Digital Editions.\ Press Adobe Digital Editions and then press Get (or Open if it’s already installed).

In order to use Adobe Digital Editions, you will need an Adobe ID. If you already have an existing Adobe ID, open Adobe Digital Editions and skip to the next step. To create an Adobe ID, visit <https://www.adobe.com/account/sign-in.adobedotcom.html> and click “create an account” under the Sign In header.

You will prompted to authorise the app with your Adobe ID. Press authorize to continue to the next step

You're now ready to download an eBook!

Open Safari (or your preferred browser) and login to <https://www.vlebooks.com/>. Select “download” and then choose the number of days you wish to download the title for.

Once the link has generated select “click here to download” to begin the download.

You’ll then see a pop-up asking to confirm the download. Once the file has downloaded, you’ll see a blue arrow next to the browser address bar. Click on this and then select “downloads.”

Select the relevant file in the download menu, this will then present you with an option of which app you would like to open the file with. Select Adobe Digital Editions and you can begin reading!
