How to Add / Insert Media

On your site dashboard, click "Media"

Click "Add New"

Click "Select Files"

Choose the image from your file explorer that you want to upload. (Note: rename the image before you upload it so that it is descriptive and not a string of letters and numbers).

Once the image has loaded, select it, and you'll see a bar appear on the right hand side. This is all the information about the file. Click "More Details ↓"

Click the "Alt Text" field. Make sure the alt text is a good description of the image. This is what screen reader uses to tell those using it what the image contains if they can't see it.

Click the "Description" field. Typically the description will be used by you to search in the media library for a specific image.

Let's add our image to a page. Click "Pages"

Click "Edit" on the page you want to edit

Click the "add block" icon.

Click the image icon. If it doesn't automatically appear, you can search for it.

Click "Media Library"

Select the image you want to upload

Click "Select" to submit the image

You can adjust the size of the image by using the dots on the side to drag into place

Click "Update" to save your changes
Documents

Click "Media" on your dashboard

Choose the document from your file explorer that you want to upload (we recommend .pdf instead of .doc). Note: rename the document before you upload it so that it is descriptive and not a string of letters and numbers.

Change the "Title" field to a descriptive title (if needed)

The "File URL:" field is the URL of where the documents lives on the website

Clicking "Copy URL to clipboard" will copy the link from the File URL. Pasting this URL into a browser will show you the document in that tab.

Click "Pages"

Click "Edit" on the page you want to add the document to

Make sure you have a blank paragraph ready in your editor

Type what words you want to become the URL. In the example, I'm going to type "MSAT Course Sequence"

Highlight the words you want to hyperlink and select the link icon as shown

Click the "Search or type url" field and paste the URL you copied earlier in the media library

Click the arrow to submit the document URL

The hyperlinked words should be blue now, and when you hover over the words an underline should appear

Click "Update" to save your changes
