Operator Portal: Creating & Updating Events

Creating new and updating current events for your business is simple and only takes a few steps. This guide shows you how to add event details, configure settings, and submit to Tourism Nova Scotia for approval.

Creating a New Event

Navigate to <https://novascotia.com/wp-login.php>and log in. Then, from the dashboard panel on the left side, click '**Events'** and then click **'Add New Event'.**

Click the **'Add title'** field and enter the name of your event.

In the field below the title, enter a description for your event. This should include details such as what sort of activities will be taking place and what guests can expect to experience.

Scroll down to the "**Event Fields"** section and click the "**Date/Cost"** tab. Enter the event's start and end dates, time, and cost. Enter the website URL associated with your event (if applicable). Otherwise, leave this field blank.

Under the **'Details'** tab, select the **Region** and **City/Town** where your event will take place.

Enter the **venue location**, **venue address**, **associated URL**, **event contact information**, and **Map URL** for your event. Under the Map URL, click on **'Click here'** for assistance on how to find your Map URL.

After entering the '**Venue Address'** field, click the '**Get Latitude/Longitude**' button to auto-populate the latitude and longitude for the event.

Select the accessibility for your event.

From the **'Business'** dropdown, select your business and then the associated listing.

If there is specific information regarding Admissions, such as when the doors open vs when a show starts, these can be entered into the **'Admission Details'** field.

Navigate to the **'Images**' tab.

Click **'Add to gallery'** to add images to your event page.

Choose images from the '**Media Library**' or upload new files using '**Upload files**'. Click to select your desired images, then click the '**Select**' button.

Scroll up and click **"Set featured image"** in the right-hand panel. This image will appear on your event card.

Click on the **‘Links’** tab and enter any associated URLs, such as where people can purchase tickets online (if applicable), as well as social media links.

When you’re ready to submit your event to Tourism Nova Scotia, click **‘Submit for Review'**. If you would like to save your event and come back to work on it at a later date, click **'Save Draft'**.

Once submitted successfully, you will see an **Event Submitted** notification at the top of the page. To preview the event you submitted for review, click **'Preview post'**. **Please check your email.** Upon submission, you will receive an email notification about the status of your event.

Editing/Revising an Existing Event

Under the **'Events'** section of the admin panel, locate the event you would like to edit and click **'Create Revision'**.

Update the information for your event, such as the description, date, time, location, etc. as applicable.

When you are ready to submit your revised event to Tourism Nova Scotia for their review and approval, click **'Save Changes'** to save the changes you have made.

To submit your revised event to Tourism Nova Scotia for review and approval, click the **‘Submit to TNS’** button.

Upon successful submission, you will see **'Revision Submitted'**. You can also preview your revision by clicking on **'Preview'**.\ \ Once reviewed and approved by a member of the Tourism Nova Scotia team, you will receive a confirmation email that your updates are live and in place.
