How to Add an Email Auto Response to an External Form

Set up an email auto response for an external form, so that when the respondent submits the form, they will receive confirmation to their inbox that their form was submitted along with any important follow up information that may be relevant.

Hover over "Admin" Click "Data Categories"

Click on the title bar of the Data Category where the external form is located

Scroll down to the "One pagers" section\ Click "Configure" by the right form

In the "External form" section Find "Email confirmation auto-response"

Select an email address field from the dropdown options. Type in a subject for the email. Optionally, add an address in the "Email reply to" Add the email body copy.

Tip! If you would like to add formatting to the email body such as **Bold**, *italic*, •bullet points, hyperlinks, etc. use [Markdown syntax](https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/)

When done, click the X to close the form configure screen and save your changes

As soon as a form is submitted, the respondent will receive a confirmation email with your site name included in the "from" email address and\ with your custom subject and message
