How to Apply to a Grant on Behalf of Another Organization in Salesforce

If you are a consulatant, grant writer, or organziation that is authorized to apply to a grant on behalf of another entity, please follow the instructions below. Typically this process is for organizations who apply on behalf of and administer the grant for another entity. Only create account relationship and apply for grant if you have been authorized to do so, and have the abilty to show documentation of that authorization. Navigate to the Kansas Commerce Grant Portal <https://kansascommerce.my.site.com/Grants/s/>

First you will need an account for your organization with the Kansas Department of Commerce Grant Portal. If you have an account with Salesforce please log in, if not click "Need to Register?" and register an account on behalf of your organization. For example, if I am Renee, a grant writer at XYZ Grant Services LLC and I am going to write and submit a grant for a city, I first need to register an account in the portal that I am Renee at XYZ Grant Services LLC, then complete the next steps to add an account relationship to my account for the city. Adding the account relationship of the city to my account lets me apply on behalf of the city. Click "Home"

You need to make an 'Account Relationship' to apply on behalf of another organization. An account relationship authorizes your account in the system to apply on behalf of another entity. The entity does not need to have an account with Kansas Commerce for you to have an account relationship and apply on behalf of.

Click "Account Relationships"

Click on "Add Account Relationship"

Click "Create Account Relationship"

Use the exact legal name of the account you are trying to apply on behalf of.

Click on the appropriate type of account the organization you are applying on behalf.

Select the Kansas Commerce program you will apply for on behalf of the organization you are working with.

Click "Next"

Click "Continue Account Request and Submit"

Select your role as the relationship to the organization you are applying on behalf of.

Select the date you started working with the organization you are applying on behalf of.

Click "Search for Account"

If there is an organization registered with the KDC grants portal that matches the information provided, the account will be listed on this page.

If the account is not registered with KDC or the account was not able to be found, you will need to register their account during the account relationship setup. Please skip to Step 20.

Click "Continue"

Select the "Yes" option if the account information is correct.

Click "Continue"

Fill out the "\*Additional Information?" field with information on your relationship to the organization you are applying on behalf of.

Add your point of contact information to the organization you are applying on behalf of.

Fill out the address information as needed.

Click "Submit Section"

Click "Submit Request"

It may take one business day for your account relationship to be approved. To check the status of your account relationship request or a list of your account relationships, skip to Step 25

If the organization you are applying on behalf of does not have an account in the KDC grant portal, no account will be found when you try to search during the account relationship setup. Please select "--None--" as your account, and click "Continue"

Fill out account information for the organization you are applying on behalf of. This will create an account for

To check on the status of your account relationship request or to see your account relationships please click "Home"

Click "Account Relationships"

Click "View Account Relationships"

When you are ready to apply for a grant on behalf of an account, click "Learn More & Apply" on the grant opportunity.

Click "Apply Now"

Click "Organization Applying for Funding" and select the organization you are applying on behalf of.

Click "Next"

Double check that the details of the organization you are applying on behalf of are correct, then select the "Yes" option.

Click "Next"

From there, you will fill out the grant application and submit.
