How to: Become an Introductory Coach - Step by Step Guide

Follow this step by step guide to help you along your coaching journey, there are separate guides for Level 1 & 2 Coach Courses and SSTA/Coach Educator pathway for ease.

Navigate to your EA Profile page.

Click the "Coaches" tab please Note your page may look different to the one below depending on what categories you have. EG you may not have International.

Click "Add, Renew or Upgrade your Membership" tab.

Click on "Coaching Pathways" tile for all Coach Qualifications.

Before you can access the coaching pathway you need to have completed the prerequisite modules, these are explained below and must be completed before the system will allow you to start your coaching journey. Then choose the tick box for the pathway you want to follow. In this case "General Coach" has been selected.

The first thing you need to do is purchase and complete the EA Orientation & Coaching Pathway Course, to access please CLICK "HERE" to purchase the course resources. These will be sent to you in an email once purchased, you will be able to upload the certificate on completion.

Click "Upload" to add your EA Orientation and Coaching Pathway Certificate.

Click "Drag file(s) here or click to upload" your completed Certificate.

If the file has been uploaded correctly it should show, under 'Please Upload'

Click "Save" in the top right hand corner.

Your certificate will show yellow as pending until the Coaching Team have approved.

Once approved the certificate will be shown as "ACTIVE" in green.

Click "Introductory Coaching - General workbooks" to order your Coaching Resources.

Click on the "Show More" tab which will drop down all the coaching resources for purchase.

Click "Add More"

Click on the "+" sign to add the number of resources you would like to purchase.

Click "Proceed to checkout"

Click "Pay with Card" this can be seen at the top and bottom of the page.

Click "Pay" button at the bottom of the page.

Once the payment is complete you will see the screen below.

Click "Coach Search page" this will take you to a list of Coach Educators.

When ready you can upload your Assessment Slips by clicking "Upload"

Follow the prompts by adding your "Coach Educator Name"

Add in your Coach Educator EA Number.

Click "Drag file(s) here or click to upload your Assessment Checklist"

You should be able to see your attached uploaded document

Click "Save" in the top right hand corner.

Once saved your uploaded documents will show as Pending in yellow.

Once they have been approved by the EA Coaching Team they will turn "Active" and go green.

To claim your certificate please click the "Claim" button

To claim your certificate you will need to tick the bottom of the Coaches Declaration that you will abide by the rules.

Then Click "Save" in the top right hand corner

Your Introductory Coaching will then show green and "Active" to enable you to claim your certificate, which sits under the Credentials tab on your profile.

Before you can become an EA Accredited Coach you will need to submit the following verification documents, follow the prompts to upload. Starting with your Working with Children Check. Once uploaded and verified your account will show green and "Active"

Follow the same process for "First Aid" Click "Upload"

Enter the start and expiry dates along with a copy of your First Aid Certificate

Click "Save" in the top right hand corner

Your account will show green Active First Aid Certificate. If this turns red it means your First Aid has expired.

Follow the same process to upload all verification documents. The links to the FREE courses are available as part of the process. Once these have been completed you can upload your training history document.

This is the link to the Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) Website, you will need to create an account or login. Once you have completed the course please upload your training history document.

Upload your Training History document by clicking the "Upload" button and follow the steps.

Then Click "Save"

Your SIA Coach Update will show in green as "Active" once complete.

Complete the same process for SIA Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate.

The same process continues for Community Coaching Essentials Skills Certificate, if you click on the link you will access the ASC Learning Management System.

The link will take you to the LMS where you can complete the Community Coaching Essential Skills course and the EA Concussion course.

Click "Upload" to add your certificate.

Follow the prompts on the screen.

Click "Save" in the top right hand corner.

Your Essential Skills Certificate once uploaded should be showing green as "Active"

Follow the same steps to upload the following documents for verification.

Click "Upload" then your certificate should say "Active" once completed.

Follow the same process for uploading your Concussion Certificate, this must be the 2023 EA Concussion course, which can be found on the ASC Learning Management System. The course can be found by clicking the link and is free to complete. When completed, upload your certificate and add to your profile the same way as before. The box will turn green and become "Active"

Click "click here to pay" for your Coach Membership

This will take you back to your Profile page where you can purchase your coach membership for the year, by clicking on the coaches tab. Please see the How to: Guide for purchasing Coach Membership for the next steps.
