How to Copy an Existing Event to Create a New Event

Follow these steps if you want to duplicate an event without having to fill out all the details again. This allows you to retain the event description and resource needs, but change the date, time, and location if needed.

Navigate to 25Live via your MySCU Portal tile and go to your dashboard.

Click "Go to Search" to look up the event with the information you are trying to duplicate.

Make sure your search is under the "Events" dropdown tab.

Click the "Search Events" field.

Enter either the reference ID of the event or the event name.

Click on the title of the event.

Now that you are on the event details page, click "More Actions."

Click "Copy Event."

Set the toggle to "Related" to copy the event and relate it to other events to create a related event set.

Set the toggle to "Stand-Alone" to just copy this event.

Click the "Start Date" field to change the date of the new event.

To the right, you will be able to take a glance at the base information for your new event, including date, time, locations, and resources.

Click "Copy Only This Event"

Now that you have created a copy of the event, you can customize it. Click the "Event Name" field to rename the event.

If you wish to change the location of the event, you are able to view the availability of event spaces on your selected date and time.

If you wish to change the resources for the event, you are able to view the availability of different resources on your selected date and time.

Click "Further Event Information" field to add more information about your event.

Click "Save" to submit your event request and send the associated tasks and requests to event stakeholders.

Please Note: Even though the location and resources may have been approved for the original event, a new request will be sent to the associated stakeholders and building managers and will be marked as pending until renewed approval is received.
