How to Create Your First Product Listing

From the Vendor Portal menu, navigate to the Products menu tab: <https://portal.knifeshift.com/v2/product>

Click the "Create Product" button.

We have product templates you can use as a reference to set-up listings for common types of merchandise.

Begin creating your product by filling out the "Title" field. Keep it brief and catchy (\~70 characters), stating the product type and a summary of the design.

Add a Product Description. This is where you can provide the customer with more detail about the item. For example, share extra information about the meaning of the design, product features, and your business.

Add Product Images. Here you can easily use the file browser to upload images saved on your computer or device.\ \ The order that the images will display on the product page of your shop can also be edited by dragging the photos into place. The largest image is Position #1 and any additional images are numbered left to right across each row. Add Product Variants (If Applicable): Step #1 Checkbox If your product is an item with multiple options a customer can select (such as a t-shirt with different colors and sizes), then you will need to create variant options. Select the Add Options checkbox to do so.

Add Product Variants (If Applicable): Step #2 Define Options The boxes on the left of the page are how you define categories of options for your product variants. For example, one option category for your product may be SIZE and a second option category for your product may be COLOR. You can create new option categories by clicking the "+ Add another option" text link.

Add Product Variants (If Applicable): Step #3 Create Option Values The boxes on the right allow you to add values for each option category defined in the previous step. Type and submit each value, which will become a gray box as shown below. For example, if you sell a t-shirt with multiple sizes you will need to create values for the sizes you have in stock. Create values for "S", "M", "L", etc.

The Product Variants you created will now appear and be able to be edited. Our example shows that a t-shirt created with multiple size and color options has "S / White" and "S / Black" as individual items you can independently edit.

Note: If you need to delete any of the individual variant options that are created, you may click on the trashcan icon to delete it.

Add Product Price. Here you can set the price that you want to sell each product (or product variant) for.

Add Product Weight. Accurate product weights are useful if you choose to set shipping rates by total order weight ranges. For more information on shipping rates, see: <https://knifeshift.com/apps/frequently-asked-questions?faq-section-id=111590&faq-article-id=505234>

Add Product Quantity/Inventory. Set how many units of the product you have in stock to sell.

Select the "Track quantity" field. When a unit of this product or product variant is sold, our system will automatically reduce the available quantity.

Provide the earliest estimated Delivery Date for your product once you receive an order. This estimate should include the time it will take for you to package and ship the item AND the transit time to the customer (typically 2-5 business days for standard delivery methods).

Select Product Type. We created categories of standard merchandise. Accurate product types allow customers to filter lists of products and easily find the types of items they are shopping for.

Select Product Tag(s) (Optional). Product tags similarly provide another way to categorize products for search engines and customers to ensure your items can readily be found by shoppers searching for great merch like yours.

Set Publish Status to Active. Once you're ready to push your product onto your store, make sure that the publish status is "Active."

Submit Product. Finally, click "Submit" to get your item on your store and in front of fans!
