How to Create a Coming Soon Post on the KT Website

PRE-REQUISITS: - It is expected that you have login credentials for the backend of the KT website and you know how to log in. - Exterior front photo of the property - A small blurb for the property. - Property Details\ *(Number of beds & baths, square feet, parking spaces)* - Copy of the URL for the Property Page on the KT website\ *(This will be in Draft mode at this time, but the URL will be the same)*
How to Find the Property page URL

To get the URL, you will need to access the "Properties" section of the backend of the KT Wordpress site.

Search for the property and click Edit

The URL (Permalink) is found here. Highlight the text and copy it to be pasted when needed, later in this process.
Creating the Coming Soon Post

Click "Posts" in the left-hand toolbar in the backend of the KT website's Wordpress dashboard.

Click "Add New" in one of the two spots indicated below.

Insert the Property Address, as shown, and select "Coming Soon" in the Categories section.
It is important to make sure you select "Coming Soon." If this is not selected, the website cannot differentiate between a Coming Soon post and a Blog. This will result in it being listed as a blog on our website, and it will not be listed on the the Coming Soon archive page.

On the right-hand side of the page, select "Set Featured Image"

Select "Upload Files" to select the file from your desktop, or select it from the Media Library, if it has already been uploaded.

Once uploaded, select the image and click "Set Featured Image"

Change the "Author" to the real estate agent handling this property.

Copy and paste the blurb provided by the real estate agent into the Excerpt field.

Click "Save Draft" before continuing

Click "Edit with Elementor"

Click the grey folder icon

Find "Coming Soon Single Post" and Click "INSERT"

Click "DON’T APPLY"
Setting the Primary Image

Click here to edit the image

Click "Advanced"

Click "Background" to expand that menu.

Click on the brush icon next to Background Type

This image box will pop up. Click the + to add the main image.

Select the same image that was set as the Featured image.

The selected image will have a checkmark beside it. then Click "Select"

If the image doesn't display nicely, Adjust the Display Size and Position fields until you find one that works.
Editing Text

To edit various text fields, click on the pencil icon in the top right corner that will appear in the corner when hovering your mouse over the respective content.
When entering the street name, enter the street name and suffix on two separate lines so that they always appear stacked. If you do not do this some displays may shrink the font to squeeze it onto one line.

After selecting the pencil icon, you can edit the text on the display page or on the left-hand side of the page, in the toolbar, as shown here.

The blurb here can match the blurb in the Excerpt, unless provided with a unique one for this purpose.\ \ Update the agent's name and title accordingly.

Update the various specifications using the information provided by the listing KT team member.
In the above step, it is very easy to accidentally click and drag components to different columns. If you experience this, you can click and drag it back, or simply press CTRL+Z to undue recent changes.

Click the pencil icon on the map to edit the address so that the map populates the correct location.

Enter the address in the Location field.

This section is where we will list up to six additional images of the property. Note that we often create the Coming Soon post before these images are available. In that instance, leave this blank and come back to it when photos are available.

Upon clicking the pencil icon above, you can click on the + in the section noted below to select a new gallery of images.

Select your preferred six images to go in here.

Click "Create a new gallery"
There will be instances where there are fewer images in this gallery, but be cautious of adding too many as it will impact the alignment of some of the website components. You can always add them, save it, view it, and adjust as you see fit.

Editing the Form
Completing this step is critical to ensure prospective buyers who register are being logged in PropertyBase and followed up with correctly.

Click here to change the HTML code in the back-end so clients can register according to the property.

In the Edit HTML menu, on the left-hand side, and; - Scroll down to "LINE 103" \ *This line number may not always be exact* - Remove INSERT BROKER UNIQUE ID \ ***(DO NOT REMOVE THE QUOTATION MARKS)*** - Replace that text with Broker ID number found in the Listing in PropertyBase.\ *For example: "KT206HCM"*

- Then, scroll down to LINE 109 - Change INSERT PROPERTY STREET NUMBER AND NAME to the property address \ *For example: "206 Higginbotham Cres"*
Setting Up the Countdown Timer

Click on the pencil icon for the timer widget

If we have a listing date, set the Due Date to the listing date and select Noon as the time. \ \ If we do not have a listing date, set the date to any date in the past. Doing this will set the timer to display all zeros.

If you set a listing date, change the Redirect URL field to match the Property URL that you collected in the begining of this process. If the listing date has not been established yet, and you set a Due Date in the past, click on the x next to "Redirect" to remove that option from the "Actions After Expire" field.
Note that if you visit the Coming Soon page and find that it's in a continuous loop or redirecting to a broken link, it's because the "Redirect" wasn't removed from the above step or the URL was added incorrectly.

Once you've completed everything, click Publish.

Step 50: Click "HAVE A LOOK" to see your preview
Tip! Once you've reviewed the live coming soon post, copy the link and send it to the agent so they're able to see the post for their review.
