How to Create an Automated Email Sequence in HubSpot

HubSpot

Navigate to [https://app.hubspot.com](https://app.hubspot.com)

Click "Automation"

Click "Sequences"

Click "Create sequence"

You can either start with a pre-made sequence and edit that

Or create one from scratch by clicking "Start with a blank sequence and add your own emails and tasks."

Click "Create sequence"

Click here.

Click "Automated email"

Click "Next: Add email content"

Search for a saved template and select it, or create your own template and skip to step #16

To add a follow up email, click the "+" button

Click "Automatically send an email for me"

Select "Reply" if you want the follow up email to be in the same thread as the first email you sent in this sequence.

Click "Next: Add email content"

Click "Create template" if you don't already have a template saved for the follow up email (if you do, search and select the template, then skip to step #21)

Enter in all the details to create your email template.

Click "Personalize" to add personalization tokens.

Click "Insert" to add meeting links, a video, documents, or snippets.

Click "Save template"

Click "1 business day" to edit how many business days should take place before the second email sends.

Edit the "Business days" field.

Click "Save"

To add another step, select the "+" button.

Click "General task" to set a task for yourself

Enter the details of the task.

Click "Add"

Now your sequence is complete!

Click "Settings" to double-check the settings.

Adjust what hours your sequences should send emails if needed.

Click "Automation" to review that the unenrollment criterias (as in, once the contract meets either of these criteria, they will be removed from the sequence) you want are set. All contacts will be unenrolled from any sequence if they reply to the email OR schedule a meeting using your HubSpot meeting link. You can also manually unenroll contacts if needed.

Click "Save"

Name the sequence and set who can view the sequence.

Click "Save"

Click "Enroll contacts" to enroll them directly from HubSpot

Click the "Search contacts" field and type in the name you are looking for.

Select the contact you want to enroll.

Click "Next"

Click "Start sequence"

Click "Performance" to view analytics.
